Abstract: A user authentication apparatus includes an information collection unit which collects user information from a plurality of personal portable devices of a user within a predetermined distance, and a control unit which identifies the user as a user corresponding to the collected information based on the amount of user information collected. Accordingly, user authentication can be easily performed using portable devices of a user, resulting in increased user convenience.

Abstract: Provided is a communication method using a three-dimensional (3D) image display device. In the communication method, motion information is determined using a motion image obtained by photographing a user's motion indicating the user's request in relation to an opposite party, distance information indicating the distance between the user who is moving and the 3D image display device is determined, and then, the user's request is determined based on the motion information and the distance information.

Accordingly, a user-based touch screen keyboard which can be easily used, allow information to be quickly input, and reduce touch error, can be provided.

Abstract: Provided are a touch-screen based device identification and information provision method and apparatus, and computer-readable recording mediums having recorded thereon programs for executing the touch-screen based device identification method and the information provision method. The device identification method for a touch screen device includes propagating a signal induced by touching a touch screen surface to an external device via the person, receiving information about the signal detected by the external device and an identification (ID) of the external device through a communication channel, and identifying the external device by using the received information about the detected signal and the received ID of the external device. Thus, the touch screen device and the external device can be connected to each other in real time by a simple and physical touch.

Abstract: A method of interfacing between devices in a home network control device includes dividing a screen into at least two areas, assigning a predetermined contents service function to each of the divided screen areas, sensing the position of the screen that an external device approaches and the distance between the screen and the external device reproducing content, and performing the contents service function differently between devices for each screen area according to the position of the screen that the external device approaches and the distance between the screen and the external device.

Abstract: Provided are method and apparatus for writing and reproducing a multimedia service using a tag in order to provide an intuitive interface for a user using a multimedia service. The method includes selecting a multimedia service to be written; generating tag information identifying the selected multimedia service; and writing the generated tag information to a tag. Accordingly, multimedia service information and content information can be stored in a tag by being written to tag information using a common format, and thus the user can later execute a service operation by easily writing information of a desired service operation to a tag and then simply connecting the tag to a tag reading device.

The graphic data generator transforms the program supplementary information outputted from the supplementary analyzing unit into graphic data, and a disk generator records the digital program signal and the graphic data generated from the graphic data generator in a disk.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a logo display of a multimedia player are provided. The apparatus includes a memory which stores at least one logo to be displayed on the multimedia player, a logo location pointer which points to the location of the memory at which a logo to be displayed on the multimedia player is stored, a display unit which displays a logo, and a controller which reads a logo from the memory based on the logo location pointer and outputs that logo to the display unit, if a log display of the multimedia player is requested, wherein the logo location pointer points to the location of the memory at which a logo based on the media title is stored if a media title is inserted in the multimedia player.
