Abstract: The invention relates to the use of an antibacterial compound, which is derived from alliaceae, as a natural additive in animal feed, intended as an antimicrobial agent in animal feed, and as an alternative, due to its antibacterial nature, to the use of antibiotics as growth promoters, proposing the use of the compound separately (purity greater than 95%), and encapsulated or supported on different inert materials or food coatings, and in that said compound preferably consists of propyl propylthiosulfinate and, in an alternative variant, of propyl propylthiosulfonate.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to utilization of antimicrobial agents derived from plants of the alliaceae family for the prevention and control of crop diseases, post-harvest rotting and as environmental disinfection products. The agents include propyl propylthiosulfinate and propyl propylthiosulfonate compounds for pre- and post-harvest treatments, control of rotting in fruits and vegetables; disinfection of agricultural soils, control of microorganisms, environmental disinfection in agricultural processing industries, facilities and equipment, disinfection of food containers and boxes.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of extracts and compounds of plants from the Allium genus for the food and agrifood industry consisting of being used as food preservatives for humans and animals, plants being harvested or post-harvest plants, as well as for environmental disinfection, using thiosulfinates, thiosulfonates, ajoene, vinyl dithiins and products resulting from the decomposition of thiosulfinates.
