Abstract: An emergency call apparatus and method for a smart phone are disclosed in which the apparatus includes a personal data assistant unit including a telephone power control unit for generating a telephone power-on signal when an emergency call requirement occurs in a state in which the telephone unit is powered off, and an emergency call number storage unit for storing an emergency call number, the personal data assistant unit sending a call set-up command to the telephone unit; a power supply for supplying power the telephone unit and the personal data assistant unit; a first power path connected to the power supply, for sending power to the personal data assistant unit; a second power path connected to the power supply, for sending power to the telephone unit in response to the power-on signal; and an on-screen keyboard which enables a user to make an emergency call.

The method includes determining, by a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) module, whether a subscriber identification information request signal occurs; and directly accessing the SIM and reading the subscriber identification information stored in the SIM when the subscriber identification information request signal occurs.

Abstract: A method for entering an Internet site address including a plurality of Internet sub-addresses for wirelessly accessing an Internet website using a keypad of a mobile communication terminal is disclosed. According to the method, at least one Internet sub-address is assigned to at least one key of a plurality of keys arranged on the keypad in accordance with a predetermined sequence and the assigned Internet sub-address associated with the corresponding key is stored into a memory unit. If a key on the keypad is selected by a user of the mobile communication terminal, it is determined the number or time duration the key is depressed, the stored Internet sub-address corresponding to the number or time of depressing the key is retrieved from the memory unit, and transferred to a display unit for displaying the Internet site address.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for notifying a user of a mobile terminal of public place behavior in a mobile telecommunication system is provided. In the Public Place Behavior (PPB) notifying method, upon receipt of a message indicating entry into a public place from a message generator installed in the public place, the received message is displayed and a public place mode is set. If the message is not received from the message generator for a predetermined time period, the public place mode is released.
