  • Patent number: 9261199
Abstract: Fire abatement fluid flow control apparatus, comprising a fusible link, a valve housing, a stopper in the housing, and a stopper seat, the link operating to normally block movement of the stopper away from the seat, and upon fusing to unblock the stopper movement, whereby when the fire abatement fluid is operatively supplied under pressure to the valve housing, and when overheating of the link occurs, the link will fracture so that stopper movement away from the seat is effected, allowing release of abatement fluid for application to a fire.

  • Publication number: 20120118591
Abstract: The method of suppressing fire in a structure, that includes providing a motor driven air compressor and water pump fixed position system operable to produce a pressurized source of fluid flow including water, foam and compressed air, installing an elongated duct or ducts to extend in fixed position or positions to a source fluid delivery location or locations at or within that structure, installing a fire or smoke detector or detectors at or within the structure, to produce a signal or signals in response to fire detection at or near the monitoring detector or detectors, and operating the system to deliver the fluid to the duct or ducts to be accurately and controllably delivered to a location or locations, in response to a detector signal or signals, for suppressing the fire, as via different nozzles to which fluid is controllably delivered.

  • Patent number: 7789165
Abstract: A cooker system, comprising a relatively wide pan containing cooking oil at high temperatures, the pan extending longitudinally, for cooking edibles located longitudinally, single or multiple row water mist producing nozzles supported above the pan, there being one or more laterally spaced nozzles at longitudinally spaced locations above the pan, each nozzle producing mist substantially covering an area of at least about one square foot, at oil surface level in the pan, and control means to control pressurized water delivery to the nozzles, in the event of fire in or associated with oil in the pan.

  • Patent number: 6571882
Abstract: A fire fighting unit to be installed and transported on a relatively small vehicle, comprising, in combination, frame structure sized for installation on a vehicle; fluid supply apparatus carried on the frame structure; and including a water supply tank, a fire fighting foam tank, a compressed gas source, fluid delivery lines from the tanks, and controls including pumps carried on the frame structure, for controlling fluid delivery via the lines, and in mixed condition to at least one fluid delivery nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6510901
Abstract: The method of extinguishing a fire characterized by production of flames openly rising above an upwardly presented liquid fat or grease zone, in a fryer, the fat or grease being combustible to produce the fire, the steps that include locating a mist forming nozzle to direct mist toward the flames, delivering essentially pure water under pressure to the nozzle so that the nozzle forms a jet stream of water mist delivered from the nozzle as a rapid and expanding flow of concentrated mist and directing said mist stream into the flames to substantially encompass the flames, and to flow toward the fat or grease zone, and for a sufficient time to extinguish the flames and to lower the temperature of the surface of the fat or grease zone to a level below combustion temperature.
