Abstract: A dock for connecting a smartphone to a display and a laptop is disclosed. The dock transfers audio/video data from a smartphone to a display, establishes a wireless link with the smartphone and intercepts input device event messages of a laptop so that a user can use input devices of the laptop to control the smartphone. The dock has a controller with a switch, a wireless communication module, a hook procedure processor, two USB connectors, an AV converter, an AV switch, and two AV connectors.

Abstract: A dock for connecting a smartphone to a display and peripherals is disclosed. The dock transfers audio/video data to a display, establishes a wireless link with peripherals and possesses a KVM function. The dock has a controller with a switch, a wireless communication module, a USB hub, a relay, two USB connectors, a, USB switch, an AV converter, an AV switch, and two AV connectors. The relay normally connects AV data from the smartphone to the AV converter. The controller switches the relay while the switch is being operated, the wireless communication module establishes the wireless link with the smartphone. And the USB switch and AV switch can switch one of an external computer and a smartphone to be connected with the display and peripherals.

Abstract: A USB peripheral device with a power connector, such as a card reader, which serves as a peripheral device when it is connected to a host device such as a smart phone, while which can directly charge the host device when a charger is plugged in, is disclosed. The peripheral device has a USB connector and a controller. The ID, D+, D? and VBUS pins of the USB connector are connected to the controller and the power connector through a plurality of relays depending upon whether the power connector is connected by a charger or not. The peripheral device can be automatically switched to serve as a B-device or a power bridge transferring power from the charger to the host device.

Abstract: An I/O module such as a card reader module for connecting a computer having a first and second USB port is disclosed. The I/O module includes an I/O controller connecting the first USB port, a charging controller connecting the second USB port and a third USB port connecting the charging controller. The I/O controller determines what a power state of the computer is according to communication between the first USB port and the I/O controller and then sends a control signal depending upon the power state to the charging controller. The charging controller changes the third USB port into a pure charger mode without data transfer or a normal mode with both charging and data transfer capabilities according to the control signal.

Abstract: The method disposes a power-swicthable USB port in a host, which is connected to a USB device. The relay has a control pin controlled by the host and two switch pins electrically connected between a power pin of the USB port and a power source of the host. The host sends a control signal to the control pin of the relay to close the switch pins when the USB port is held normal by a user. The host sends another control signal to the control pin to open the switch pins and cut off the power to the USB port when the user is logically disconnecting the USB device from the host.

Abstract: An embodiment of the invention provides a backup method for a portable device. The method includes steps of: creating a first log file according to a first file that has to be stored in a backup device; connecting the portable device to the backup device; transmitting the first log file to the backup device; reading the first log file, by the backup device, and storing the first file to a storage device of the backup device; wherein the first log file is transmitted to the storage device via a buffer that is controlled by a controller of the backup device.

The major feature of the present innovation is that the parameters are transmitted via the email and after the connection is established, the commands or requests for data transmission are still transmitted via email. As to the data under transmission, it is transmitted by peer to peer (P2P) technology. In another embodiment, the data may also be transmitted via email.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a data transmission method for a first electronic device and a second electronic device. The method includes the steps of finding a first available port of the first electronic device, finding a second available port of the second electronic device, transforming a first data into a second data, wherein a format of the second data is an XML format, and transmitting the second data to the first electronic device or the second electronic device via the first available port or the second available port.

Abstract: An operation method for a host apparatus is provided. When a peripheral device connects to the host apparatus through a data transmission interface, the host apparatus is checked whether or not accessing data with the peripheral device. When the host apparatus doesn't access data with the peripheral device continuing a predetermined time, the peripheral device is shut down to make the peripheral device entering a power saving mode from a normal operation mode but an interrupt operation of the data transmission interface is still activated. When the host apparatus need to access data with the peripheral device being in the power saving mode, the interrupt operation is triggered for waking the peripheral device up to revive the peripheral device working under the normal operation mode.

Abstract: The port expander such as a USB hub or dock has a control unit and a plurality of input/output (I/O) ports and is used to connect a computer. An application program corresponding to the hub is installed to the computer. The control unit detects whether one of the ports is connected to an external device. The control unit identifies the external device if it has connected to the I/O port and reports a connection status of the I/O port to the program in the computer. Finally, the program shows the connection status of the I/O port and the external device.

Abstract: An exemplary control docking is provided with a data transceiver module, a universal protocol unit, a processor unit and a universal port module. The data transceiver module is adapted for linking with a portable device through a first transmission interface for receiving an action request. The action request then is sent to the universal protocol unit and converted into an action command with specific protocol format. Then, the action command is sent to the processor unit. Subsequently, the action command is sent to the universal port module and then to a peripheral device through a second transmission interface so as to drive the peripheral device.

Abstract: A power management method is disclosed. The power management method comprises the step of a computer system checking existence of a manufacturing identifier (ID) of a human interface device (HID) when the computer system is operated in a first mode; the computer system continuously detecting whether the HID exist when the manufacturing ID exists; the computer system starting a timer when the computer system detects that the HID does not exist; the computer system entering a second mode when the timer expires; the HID determining whether the computer system is operated in the second mode, when plugged into the computer system; the HID performing state transition on the computer system when determining that the computer system is in the second mode; and the computer system entering the first mode when detecting the state transition.

Abstract: An e-book read apparatus has a screen, a storage unit, a processing module and a layout tool. The storage saves at least one e-book having a plurality of chapters and sections, and pages. The processing is coupled to the storage unit for showing the e-book on the screen for responsing a read request. In addition, the layout is installed in the processing module or the storage unit for re-typeset the e-book for responsing a re-layout request.

Abstract: An operation method for an e-book is provided that links to an index database of the e-book, wherein the index database has a plurality of index objects and a plurality of index information corresponding to each of index objects. In addition, the index formation shows page numbers of a plurality of pages having the index objects in the e-book. Then, a plurality of briefs of the pages recorded in each of index information are obtained, and added in to corresponding index information for rebuilding index database. When one of index objects is selected on an index screen, the updated index information of the selected index object is showed on the index screen by the present invention.

Abstract: A read apparatus provided by the present invention has a screen, a storage unit and a processing module. The storage unit saves at least one e-book having a plurality of pages. Wherein, the processing module is coupled to the screen and storage unit. Therefore, the processing module can display the e-book on the screen, so as to responde a read request. Meanwhile, when the word size of the e-book has been adjusted, the processing module maintains original contents corresponding to each of pages in e-book for responding a browse request.
