  • Publication number: 20260126554
Abstract: A method and system include, among other components, a GPS receiver and one or more Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports. The GPS receiver may be implemented as a discrete device and may be located in close proximity, e.g., anywhere from 5 to 30 mm, to one or more of the USB ports. Performance data may indicate GPS performance or functionality is influenced by one more USB parameters including, USB version information, e.g., USB 2.0, USB 3.0, etc. and port proximity information indicating distance between the systems USB port and the GPS receiver or a component thereof, e.g., a GPS antenna. The system may include a circuit, module, or other component to detect GPS activity and transmit a GPS-activity signal to trigger a USB configuration that prevents USB 3.0 operation. The detection circuit may employ, e.g., an existing GPS device pin or a custom circuit configured to detect GPS power consumption.

  • Patent number: 10314214
Abstract: A vapor chamber with electromagnetic shielding function is for dissipating the heat generated by an electronic component. The vapor chamber includes a capillary structure, a support structure, and a working fluid. The vapor chamber includes an extension portion and a frame, and the extension portion extends from the main body of the vapor chamber and has a first coupling structure. The frame has side walls to surround the electronic component in a plane, and a second coupling structure is disposed on each of the side walls. The first coupling structure is engaged with the second coupling structure, so that the vapor chamber detachably covers the electronic component to perform the electromagnetic shielding function.

  • Patent number: 9261889
Abstract: A method for controlling the system power is applied in an electronic device. The method includes detecting a sensing temperature of a system-on chip of the electronic device, comparing the sensing temperature with a presetting temperature, capturing a detected signal produced by a gravity sensor of the electronic device when determining the sensing temperature is greater than the presetting temperature, and lowering the surface temperature of the electronic device by setting the power limitation of the system-on chip to be a first preset power corresponded to a first setting status when the detected signal indicates that the electronic device is in the first setting status.

  • Patent number: 7619880
Abstract: A drainage structure is provided for a portable electronic device, such as a portable computer. The drainage structure includes an inclination formed on a top surface of a body of the portable electronic device to support a keyboard device in an inclined manner so that water spilled on the keyboard device or the top surface can be expelled out of the electronic device by gravity. If desired, height adjusting units can be arranged between the keyboard device and the top surface of the body to selectively maintain the keyboard in a horizontal condition. A drain hole or groove can be selectively formed in the body of the electronic device to facilitate drainage of water.
