  • Publication number: 20230418703
Abstract: A system and method for autonomic troubleshooting in a system of devices including at least a first device and a second device communicating with each other via a system management bus. The first and second device also communicates with a host device via a separate main bus. The method includes the first device sending a first query, via the system management bus, to the second device. The first device determines if the second device in an error state based on: receiving a response from the second device indicating an error; or absence of a response from the second device. Based on the error state, the first device sends a control command to the second device via the system management bus. In some examples the first device or second device is a data storage device.

  • Publication number: 20230297277
Abstract: Reset operations impact data storage device latency. Every reset operation involves flushing cache data to the memory device and resetting the front end application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) accelerator/host interface module (HIM). Multiple resets that are performed consecutively waste valuable data storage device resources due to the duplication of the operations that every reset operation performs. Data storage device latency can be improved, as can data storage device idle time, by combining reset operations and removing duplicative operations. For example, for two different, but consecutive reset operations, the reset operations are performed by flushing the cache data and resetting the ASIC accelerator/HIM only once rather than repeat the operations for each reset operation. In so doing, the two reset operations complete reset operations faster than would otherwise occur.

  • Publication number: 20230168459
Abstract: Field-configurable optical devices and methods are disclosed. In one example, a field-configurable optical device includes a housing defining an enclosure, an input port located at the housing, a pass-through port located at the housing, a plurality of output ports located at the housing, a splitter disposed within the enclosure, a plurality of couplers within the enclosure, each coupler including an input, a first output, and a second output. Each coupler has a power splitting ratio between the first output and the second output that is different from the other couplers. An input port fiber optic jumper assembly within the enclosure. A pass-through port fiber optic jumper assembly is within the enclosure. Moving the input port fiber optic jumper assembly and the pass-through port fiber optic jumper assembly from a first coupler to a second coupler of the plurality of couplers changes the power splitting ratio of the field-configurable optical device.

  • Patent number: 11611817
Abstract: Systems and assemblies for providing both cellular and passive optical local area network (POLAN) data signals along a single, shared fiber optic backbone within an in-building network architecture are provided herein. Systems include a headend unit that combines data signals from a cellular network and optical line terminal (OLT) onto the fiber optic backbone, which is then connected to a series of daisy-chained fiber optic assembly units. An example fiber optic assembly unit includes an asymmetric coupler that splits an input fiber optic signal from the fiber optic backbone into an output fiber optic signal and a throughput fiber optic signal that is fed back onto the continuing fiber optic backbone. The output fiber optic signal is filtered into dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) channels for providing data signals to a wireless or cellular network and further split into multiple passive optical network (PON) outputs for a local area network (LAN).
