  • Patent number: 7160194
Abstract: A displacement joint includes an outer joint part having circumferentially spaced recesses to form tracks. A tripod is mounted in fixed rotative engagement to a driveshaft and includes a tripod spider which has spherical arms spaced circumferentially in symmetric disposition for engaging the recesses. Roller bearing assemblies are fitted in the outer joint part to support the tripod arms, with each tripod arm guided by two roller bearing assemblies. Each roller bearing assembly has a bearing shell, which receives the tripod arm, rolling members fitted with clearance in a cage and disposed between the track of the outer joint part and a contact surface of the bearing shell. The cage is guided by shoulders of the outer joint part, which laterally bound the track, wherein the cage has opposite collars in parallel relationship to the shoulders for providing an axial stop for the rolling members and the bearing shell.

  • Publication number: 20060279532
Abstract: A system for manual data input into computers, mobile phones or other electronic devices comprising a display device (70) and two pointing devices (60L, 60R) each equipped with a cluster of up to five finger-activated sensors (63). The display device presents a subset of characters from an alphabet and two rigid cursor patterns (40L, 40R) with up to five individual cursors representing operator's fingers. An operator uses motions of hands or thumbs to position the cursor patterns over the characters to be input and inputs them by using the finger-activated sensors. The system combines the functions of a keyboard and a pointing device and allows for data input utilizing all the fingers of operator's hands while looking only at the display device.

  • Patent number: 6431986
Abstract: A constant-velocity universal joint of a tripod type, includes a housing representing a first rotation part and having three tracks, each track having two flat running surfaces in parallel relationship, a second rotation part configured as a tripod spider and having three arms defined by arm axes arranged in a plane and intersecting in a joint axis. The arms are guided in the running surfaces of the housing, wherein each of the arms is received in a rolling-contact bearing including an inner ring, an outer ring, cylindrical rolling elements, and retainer rings arranged as mirror images of one another for mutual axial securement of all components of the rolling-contact bearing with respect to the arm axis.

  • Patent number: 6132099
Abstract: The invention relates to a radial bearing assembly for a drive shaft of vehicles which connects a transmission (2) with a driven front wheel (5), with a laterally sealed radial bearing (11a) received in a holder (15) which is securely fixed in place on the side of an internal combustion engine for supporting the drive halfshaft (7). In accordance with the invention, a drive shaft (7) in the form of a hollow shaft is provided, with an inner ring (12a) of the radial bearing (11a) being formed from a sheet metal band in a non-cutting fashion. The radial bearing (11a) is received via a spherically shaped outer surface area (14) of an outer ring (13a) in an oriented position in the holder (15) which is assembled from flanges (16, 17).
