Abstract: A network-based chat server provides a virtual chat room for chat participants, and synchronizes and shares chat dialogue exchanged between the chat participants regardless of whether the chat participants are logged onto the same chat platform or different chat platforms. The chat server includes a plurality of chat proxies; each of which is configured to communicate data with a particular chat platform. A chat synchronizer function executing at the chat server communicates the chat dialogue between the chat participants via the chat proxies.
