  • Publication number: 20170325678
Abstract: A method of measuring ocular surface temperature includes steps as follows. Using a built-in temperature sensor called a black plate herein, an infrared heat sensor is provided and the temperature sensor contacts the black plate. The temperature sensor measures an actual black plate temperature. The infrared heat sensor detects a radiation emitted by the black plate, and the radiation is computed according to a temperature rising curve through a computing unit of a work station to generate a computed black plate temperature. A value of temperature shifting error is determined by subtracting the actual black plate temperature from the computed black plate temperature.

  • Publication number: 20150342465
Abstract: A method of determining temperature shifting error derived from radiation sensor comprising: providing an infrared heat sensor and a temperature sensor contacting with a black body, the temperature sensor measuring an actual black body temperature, the infrared heat sensor detecting a radiation emitted by the black body, the radiation being computed according to a temperature rising curve through a computing unit of a work station to generate a computed black body temperature; and determining a value of temperature shifting error by subtracting the actual black body temperature from the computed black body temperature. Accordingly, method of measuring ocular surface temperature and apparatus thereof based on the above shift error determining method are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20130079660
Abstract: A method utilizing thermograph of a tear film for generating a quantified index includes steps of: capturing a set of tear film thermograph data, deriving parameters from the set of tear film thermograph data, and executing a synthesis calculation based on the derived parameters. The parameters include a temperature distribution of each tear film thermograph, a temperature fall tendency of an open-eye tear film during time variation, a type of a tear film break-up and an occurring time of the tear film break-up, and an upward drifting speed of a temperature color block in the tear film thermograph. The parameters represent the quantity of the aqueous volume of the tear and the stability of the tear film for establishing a reliability of an examination of a diagnosis of a dry eye disease without intruding into a testee's eye.

  • Patent number: 8215775
Abstract: A method for analyzing tear film thermograph of contactless tear film thermal imager has steps of sequentially loading multiple thermographs of a tear film, recording a maximum and a minimum of temperatures for a region of interest of each one of the thermographs, dividing the thermograph into at least one temperature zone in accordance with the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in the last step, and recording a size, a location and a bordering temperature of each one of the at least one temperature zone, analyzing a pattern and temperature variation of each one of the at least one temperature zone, and classifying stability of the tear film. The patterns of the temperature zones can be identified through circularity computation, mosaic and temperature gradient analysis. Accordingly, tear film break up patterns can be classified with the method to facilitate doctors to diagnose a dry eye patient.
