  • Publication number: 20150327990
Abstract: An optical aid comprises a projecting device and a retinal implant device. The projecting device includes an image projector for outputting a projected image and a light generator for emitting an auxiliary light that differs in wavelength from the projected image. The retinal implant device includes an optical-to-electrical converter and an image sensor. The optical-to-electrical converter converts the auxiliary light received thereby into electricity for powering the image sensor. • Publication number: 20130304155
Abstract: An improved structure of an artificial electronic retina is disclosed, which includes an array of a plurality of photoelectric units, and each photoelectric unit includes one electronic photosensitive element, one microelectrode, and one electronic circuit, wherein the microelectrode is disposed on and electrically connected to the electronic photosensitive element, and the electronic circuit is disposed on a circumference of the electronic photosensitive element. A layer of a light-permeable conductive material is disposed on and electrically connected to the electronic photosensitive element, wherein the layer of the light-permeable conductive material is also electrically connected to the microelectrode. Therefore, the input and output power of the electronic photosensitive element can be increased without reducing the photosensitive area of the electronic photosensitive element. Even the area of the microelectrode can be reduced in order to increase the photosensitive area.

  • Patent number: 8177714
Abstract: A surgery assisting instrument for retinal surgery includes a cylinder and a strip connected with each other. The cylinder and the strip are made of a soft and biocompatible material. The cylinder is preferably connected with the strip at a side surface and close to an edge of the strip. The surgery assisting instrument is placed in a fornix around an eye at a position according to a retinal tear. The cylinder is pressed against the eye and the strip is pressed against the eyelid. Thus the retina is forced toward the back wall of the eye.

  • Patent number: 7622702
Abstract: The invention discloses a power controlling apparatus for a biochip including M regions. Each region includes a plurality of cells respectively. The power controlling apparatus includes a pulse generating module, a combinational circuit, and M controlling modules. The pulse generating module generates a pulse. The combinational circuit receives the pulse and generates M controlling signals. Each controlling signal has a predetermined phase which is different from the phase of the other controlling signal. The M controlling modules are electrically connected to the combinational circuit. Each of the M controlling signals corresponds to and activates one of the M controlling modules to selectively power on one corresponding region of the M regions. The cells in the corresponding region which is powered have an action potential refractory time that is longer than the power-on interval of the corresponding region.

  • Patent number: 7478910
Abstract: A liquid diagnostic contact lens includes a main body having a concave lens, and a supporting element disposed at a bottom of the main body. A heavy fluid is placed on a top surface of the concave lens. A transparent plate is sealed over the top surface of the concave lens so as to define an encapsulating room and encapsulate the heavy fluid therein. In operation, an ophthalmologist places the supporting element onto the eye, and examines various interior spots of the eye by adaptively adjusting the eye. The liquid diagnostic contact lens is tilted along with the eye and the top surface of the heavy fluid is kept horizontal so the heavy fluid is formed as prisms of different diopters. Thus, the liquid diagnostic contact lens can examine various spots of the interior of the eye.

  • Patent number: 5964728
Abstract: A synchronous vitreous lavage device for ophthalmology includes a platform, a pair of main and auxiliary supporters, a pair of guiding arms, a movable seat and a pair of clamps. When the movable seat moves in the direction of the guiding arms, the lavage device simultaneously drains bloody water from an eyeball and injects lavage water into the eyeball by means of two syringes. The bloody water in the eyeball can be easily removed from the eyeball at a cheap cost. An ophthalmologic lavaging system is formed by connecting two regulating syringes through two three-way valves to the lavage device.
