  • Patent number: 10516434
Abstract: A communication circuit in a wireless communications system (WCS) is provided. The WCS employs self-interference cancellation (SIC) circuitry to suppress an interference signal(s) associated with an uplink communications signal(s) in a target uplink band(s). A communication circuit is employed to provide more accurate temporal and phase estimates about interference signal(s) in the target uplink band(s). The communication circuit utilizes an anchor downlink signal, which can be any of the downlink communications signals communicated in the WCS, to help determine an optimal phase shift for uplink communications signal(s) in the target uplink band(s). Accordingly, the SIC circuitry can suppress the interference signal(s) in the target uplink band(s) based on the optimal phase shift.

  • Patent number: 8428471
Abstract: The present invention relates to an optical access system for dual service network, which mainly comprises an optical modulation device which is used to receive on-off keying (OOK) signal from cable network and radio frequency (RF) signal from wireless network, the optical modulation device then modulates the OOK signal and the RF signal to an optical signal and send out an output optical signal. Lastly, the output optical signal is being delivered to an optical receiving device through an optical fiber transmission channel, and the optical receiving device can access the OOK signal and RF signal from the output optical signal. In addition, the present invention does not require remote nodes (receiver side) to use any optical filter to discern on-off keying signal from cable network and RF signal from wireless network. The present invention can also apply to the field of wavelength-division multiplexing system.

  • Patent number: 8059335
Abstract: An adjustable optical signal delay module which adjusts power of an amplified spontaneous emission generated by a semiconductor optical amplifier and feeds the adjusted amplified spontaneous emission back to the semiconductor optical amplifier in a direction opposite to an optical signal being amplified by the semiconductor optical amplifier is provided. The feedback of the adjusted amplified spontaneous emission varies a group refractive index of the semiconductor optical amplifier and delays the transmission of an optical signal through the semiconductor optical amplifier. By that arrangement, the adjustable optical delay module obviates the need for the pump laser conventionally required by a coherent population oscillation mechanism. The feedback optical loop includes a variable optical attenuator, an optical filter, and optical circulators. A user can control the delay timing of optical signals via adjusting optical power in the feedback optical loop.
