  • Patent number: 7666011
Abstract: An electrical connector for receiving a daughter card having a plurality of conductive surfaces is described. The electrical connector has a socket with an elongated slot for receiving the daughter card. The slot has electrical terminals for engaging the plurality of conductive surfaces on the daughter card and for electrically connecting the daughter card to the connector. A latch at each end of the elongated slot secures the daughter card to the connector. The latch includes a pair of inwardly directed opposing securing hooks and a pair of unlocking members.

  • Patent number: 7004773

The slot has electrical terminals for engaging the plurality of conductive surfaces on the daughter card and for electrically connecting the daughter card to the connector. A shaped tower at, at least one end of the elongated slot having a pair of legs rotatably retains a latch for securing the daughter card to the connector. The latch is rotatable between a first position at which the daughter card is retained within the elongated slot and a second position at which the daughter card is unrestrained. The connector further has an end wall at, at least one distal end of the elongated slot. The end wall has a protrusion protruding towards the centre of the elongated slot, the protrusion prevents the latch being removed from the tower when the latch is in the first position.

  • Patent number: 6672884
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing of molded plastic material having a plurality of elongated terminal-receiving passages into which a plurality of terminals are inserted through a terminal-insertion face of the housing. At least two of the elongated terminal-receiving passages are adjacent to each other and have elongated side walls providing elongated guide surfaces for inserting the terminals. The elongated side walls of each of the passages is open at a side thereof near the other passage along a substantial length thereof to provide communication between the passages for a single core pin to be used in forming the passages during molding of the housing.

  • Patent number: 6345992
Abstract: An electrical connector 10 is mountable on a surface of a printed circuit board 11. Connector 10 includes an elongated dielectric housing 12 having a central body portion 12a with a front mating face 16a, a lower face 23 and a plurality of terminal-receiving passages 19 extending therebetween. A plurality of terminals 20 are received in passages 19. Each terminal 20 includes a forward contact portion 21 and a tail portion 22 projecting from a body portion 12a of terminal 20 beyond lower face 23 of housing 12. Tail portions 22 include angled sections 22a for surface mounting on printed circuit board 11. An elongated tail aligner 32 is fixed to housing 12 spaced from lower face 23 thereof. Tail aligner 32 has a plurality of apertures 34 through which tail portions 22 of terminals 20 extend.
