Patent number: 10824799Abstract: Technologies are described herein for summary data autofill. A device executes an application program configured to receive data input. The application program may determine a portion of the data may be aggregated or conducive to being summarized. Upon the detection of a user input of additional data into a document having data contained therein, the application program may display a suggested complete summary of the data. An input may be received to accept the suggested complete summary, whereby the manner in which the suggested complete summary is displayed may be changed to indicate the acceptance of the suggested complete summary. A confidence level that the suggested complete summary is a correct summary of the data may be determined. The confidence level may be adjusted based on further input of data or additional data.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2014Date of Patent: November 3, 2020Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Christopher John Gross, Benjamin Edward Rampson, Poornima Hanumara, Anupam Garg

Patent number: 10082944Abstract: Technologies are described herein for autoscroll regions. A device establishes a trigger line near an edge of a selectable region of content that is adjacent to a non-selectable region of content. The device detects user input within the selectable region and detects movement of the user input that intersects the trigger line. In response to detecting the user input intersecting the trigger line, the device scrolls a scrollable region.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2016Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Poornima Hanumara, Benjamin Edward Rampson

Patent number: 9671944Abstract: Concepts and technologies are described herein for providing a range filter user interface with selectable range controls that toggle between inclusive and exclusive modes. The range controls visually indicate configuration in an inclusive mode or an exclusive mode. Upon selection of a range control, the range control switches between inclusive and exclusive modes, and provides visual indication of the current mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2013Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Poornima Hanumara, Avi Samuel Gavlovski, Benjamin Edward Rampson, Robert Alan Meyers, Jeremy Jude Alexi Edwards, Sachin Patney

Publication number: 20160042093Abstract: Technologies are described herein for leveraging data searches in documents. The technologies disclosed herein may be utilized to search one or more data stores to retrieve metadata relating to data entered in a document. The metadata may be used to identify relationships between the data or to identify other aspects of the data. The metadata may also be used to organize the data into a format such as a pivot table or chart.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2014Publication date: February 11, 2016Inventors: Benjamin Edward Rampson, Poornima Hanumara, Christopher John Gross, Anupam Garg, Kevin Lane Brown

Publication number: 20160012129Abstract: Technologies are described herein for providing visualization suggestions. In order to provide a visualization suggestion, visualized data may be received. The visualized data may have profile data associated therewith and have at least one data connection to a data source associated therewith. Prior visualization information related to the profile data or the data connection may then be identified such that a visualization suggestion based on the identified prior visualization information can be determined. The visualization suggestion may then be returned to a client.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 14, 2014Publication date: January 14, 2016Inventors: Benjamin Edward Rampson, Nickolas Dwayne Welton, Christopher John Gross, Poornima Hanumara, Andrew Grey Carlson

Publication number: 20150356061Abstract: A user interaction input is detected, indicating that a user is interacting with structured data. The user interaction input is identified as a pattern for which a summary view is to be generated. The summary view of the structured data is generated, based upon the detected pattern, and is displayed to the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2014Publication date: December 10, 2015Inventors: Benjamin E. Rampson, Christopher J. Gross, Poornima Hanumara, Anupam Garg

Publication number: 20150356068Abstract: A view of data is captured on a mobile device. The view of data can be presented to an augmented visualization system and augmented visualizations for the data are received from the augmented visualization system. The augmented visualization is displayed on the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2014Publication date: December 10, 2015Inventors: Brian T. Hill, Benjamin E. Rampson, Andrew G. Patent number: 9183561Abstract: Automatic trend analysis is provided on a dataset. Upon selection of a data cell or chart point within a data representation, a trend chart is automatically generated in order to demonstrate how the data within the selection trends over time. The system may automatically configure the trend chart based on the metadata of a data source associated with a selected data such that no input or configuration is needed by a user. The system may identify the time hierarchies and other data attributes included in the metadata of the data source associated with a selected data cell and may automatically configure the axis settings and the trend lines according to metadata of the data source. The trend chart may also be configured to display multiple trend lines for comparing multiple data set trends over a specified time period.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2011Date of Patent: November 10, 2015Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Poornima Hanumara, David Sherman, Wade Dorrell, Elaine Andersen, Julius Ravago, Robert Kaiser
