  • Patent number: 6308381
Abstract: Adjustable belts include new and improved belt buckles which allow for convenient adjustment of belt lengths, as well as secure and easily adjustable couplings of the two ends of the belts. This is accomplished by providing the belt buckles with an arrangement of slots and struts around which the belt is looped to selectively accumulate its length thereon and through which the belt is trained, so as to frictionally retain the belt on the buckle while determining the length of the belt.

  • Patent number: 5709621
Abstract: A belt utilized for flag tag games includes an arrangement for detachably mounting flags thereon by utilizing a support which includes a plug connected to a web retainer by a stem. The plug is receivable in a resilient socket on the belt so as to emit a pop when pulled therefrom. The web retainer has a pair of transverse slots defining a bridge therebetween so that the belt may be passed through one slot and then be passed over the bridge and through the other slot. The flag includes a closed recess in one end thereof through which the plug and stem are inserted to secure the flag to the support. In accordance with one embodiment of the belt, the belt includes a buckle attached to one end, the buckle having a channel or groove adjacent the bottom edge thereof which faces the upper edge. A row of teeth projects from the upper edge toward the groove.

  • Patent number: 5474301
Abstract: Spot markers for delineating areas used for athletic contests or games are configured as flat panels made of flexible material. Each panel includes a tongue and recess wherein the panel may be folded over and retained in a folded position by inserting the tongue into the recess. Each panel has a plurality of rectangular slots on opposite sides of a fold area into which extend rectangular flaps which are stiffened by stiffeners adhered thereto. When the markers are folded to form boundary markers, the flaps extend laterally to engage the ground so as to stabilize the boundary markers.

  • Patent number: 4304403
Abstract: An improved flag-tag football device comprising a novel ball and socket coupling assembly for detachably securing a first member to a second member in environments where it is desirable to provide predetermined resistance to pull-away detachable separation of the members in use, such as, for example, in flag-tag games; the coupling including an essentially rigid female socket part internally shouldered around the open end thereof and a male ball part rendered resilient by a closed transverse slot to permit inward deformation of the ball cheeks during coupling with the socket part and then outward expansion thereof at least toward predetermined normal configuration for trapping the ball part in the socket part to resist but not prevent separation of the coupling parts by normal pull-away tension during use, when the center axes of the coupling parts are in approximate general alignment.

  • Patent number: 4180875
Abstract: A urine disposal bypass unit includes a bowl for receiving urine having a bottom outlet for disposing of the urine, a one-way valve disposed in the outlet to permit flow from the bowl downward through the outlet and to prevent flow of gases upward into the bowl, a flush valve mounted on the bowl for supplying flushing liquid to a spray assembly mounted on the bowl at a position to supply the flushing liquid around the bowl to flush the bowl, a flexible drain hose coupled with the outlet of the bowl to provide communication between the bowl and a main drain, a flexible supply hose coupled with the flush valve to supply flushing liquid thereto, an extensible arm assembly mounted on a stationary support and carrying the bowl in order to permit the bowl to be extended from a storage position adjacent the stationary support and a check valve in the bowl base for passing urine and flushing liquid therethrough and maintaining a predetermined volume of liquid thereabove to act as a trap.

  • Patent number: 4106502
Abstract: An improved apparatus for person to person, rescue breath function transfer for rendering artificial respiration which allows the operator to quickly and easily synchronize his breathing with that of the victim. The apparatus is provided with a flexible flutter valve to enable the operator to sense audibly and visually when the victim is exhaling and the relative amount of air he is exhaling. A by-pass valve enables the victim to inhale fresh air at any time he desires. The present invention may be adapted for rescue air sharing, booster breathing, and resuscitation in a toxic environment. A connector is provided for the quick connection of an air or oxygen tank to the fresh air inlet port. The apparatus of the present invention is designed to be lightweight, economical to fabricate, portable, and easy to clean or repair. A modified form of the present invention can be used for the artificial respiration of animals.
