  • Publication number: 20130178134
Abstract: An abrasion arrangement is disclosed to abrade a surface of an item, the arrangement comprising a multiple axis robotic arm having at least five axes, an abrading cylinder mounted on the robotic arm and comprising abrasive means which comprise abrasive lamellae of an abrasive sheet, such as abrasive cloth, of which the front side has abrasive properties and which extend substantially radially from an elongated core and means for driving said core to rotate around a longitudinal axis of the core, and control means for controlling the operation of the robotic arm so to control e.g. the position of the abrading cylinder on said surface, the force with which the abrading cylinder is pressed towards said surface and the velocity with which the abrading cylinder is moved with respect to said surface.

  • Patent number: 6869349
Abstract: An abrading machine is disclosed for abrasion of substantially plane items by use of rotating abrading discs, which are moved simultaneously forwards and backwards transverse to the item and which preferably has downward extending abrasive lamellae. The machine also preferably includes one, typically two, opposite rotating abrading cylinders fitted with elongated abrasive elements radially mounted on the abrading cylinder and has abrasive lamellae extending outwards from the cylinder. By moving the abrading discs in a reciprocatory movement transverse to the direction of feed of the items it is achieved that traces etc. from the different abrasive properties of the abrading discs are eliminated as well as all parts of milled out areas etc. are evenly abraded, particularly if the abrading device is designed for using abrading discs with abrasive means comprising abrasive lamellae made of abrasive cloth and which extend downwards from the face of the abrading disc.

  • Patent number: 6793569
Abstract: A sanding strip with a sanding means for a sanding wheel mounted on a rotatable axle is provided. The sanding strip includes brushes placed in spaced brunches in a profile rail, where the sanding means are fastened directly to the front of the brushes outside the profile rail, preferably by means of extended glue which penetrates into the spaces between the brush bunches, whereby there is achieved an effective anchoring of the sanding means, and a sanding strip which is flexible to accommodate outwards bending in the sideways directions.

  • Publication number: 20030092370
Abstract: Sanding wheels for the processing of the surfaces of items normally comprise sending strips (12) extending radially from a cylindrical core, and composing bracing elements in the form of in-line brushes which on the one side (the front) are provided with a sanding means (30). The in-line brushes are normally mounted in a profile rail (16) with a U-shaped l cavity together with the sanding means (30), and are typically secured by the use of a clamping rail or by fusible wire, whereby the sanding means and brush hair are moulded together in the U-shaped cavity. As a result of the anchoring of the sanding means in the profile rail (16) together with the brush hairs, the known sanding strips become inflexible.
