    Abstract: A package for securing a PCB to a heatsink includes mounts with over-torque protection features. The PCB is seated in an open end of the package. Each mount includes a threaded opening for securing the package to the heatsink such that the base layer of the PCB is thermally coupled to the heat sink. The over-torque protection features are connected between the threaded opening and a sidewall of the package. The over-torque protection features may be designed to structurally fail and/or deform in response to over-torqueing of the fasteners, thereby inhibiting flexure of the PCB.

    Abstract: In an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) system, an apparatus is used to improve the transmission and reception of encoded ATM information over a wireless link having an encoder for encoding the information, assembling the information into a frame format and interleaving of the information for transmission over the wireless link. In addition, the apparatus also has a decoder for decoding information received via the wireless link which was encoded by a similar apparatus transmitting the information over the wireless link.

    Abstract: A method for encoding ATM cells for transmission over a wireless link comprising the steps of receiving an ATM cell stream comprised of a plurality of ATM cells and detecting idle/unassigned cells within the cell stream. Then, a header frame made up of headers of a number of the plurality of ATM cells is assembled, together with a payload frame made up of payloads of a number of the plurality of ATM cells. Finally, some of the detected idle/unassigned cells are placed in a selected portion of the payload frame.
