Publication number: 20250101994Abstract: A technique facilitates the reduction of vibration in a variety of devices which have rotating components. According to an embodiment, a system may combine a shaft, a rotor mounted along the shaft for rotation with the shaft, and a vibration reduction system. The vibration reduction system incorporates the use of a key and keyway in a manner which helps balance the rotor, thus reducing vibration during operation. In some applications, the vibration reduction system is able to reduce eccentric positioning of the rotor on the shaft due to, for example, assembly clearances.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2023Publication date: March 27, 2025Inventors: Arthur Ignatius Watson, Stanislav Ivanov, David Milton Eslinger, Pradeep Mahadevan, Raju Ekambaram, Jaiprakash Natarajan, You Cheng Jee, Narayanan Lakshmanan

Publication number: 20240410372Abstract: Systems and methods facilitate pumping of various fluids such as well fluids. An electric submersible pumping system is constructed with an outer housing that contains an integrated pump and motor. The pump may include an impeller disposed within a stator of the motor. The integration of the pump and the motor enables elimination of various components of traditional electric submersible pumping systems to thus provide a simpler and more compact system for pumping fluids.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2024Publication date: December 12, 2024Inventors: Raju Ekambaram, Ruslan Alexandrovich Bobkov, Maksim Radov, Alejandro Camacho Cardenas, David Milton Eslinger, Pradeep Mahadevan, Teng Fei Wang, Kean Wee Cheah, Jaiprakash Natarajan, Sethuraj Arumugam, Benoit Deville

Publication number: 20240410383Abstract: Anti-rotation bearing assemblies for electric submersible pumps are provided. An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. In use, the motor rotates the shaft, which rotates the impeller within the stationary diffuser. A bearing assembly can include a bearing sleeve disposed about the shaft and a bushing disposed radially between the bearing sleeve and the diffuser. The bearing sleeve rotates with the shaft in operation, and the bushing remains stationary with the diffuser. The bushing can have an external key that is received in a keyway or groove in the diffuser to act as an anti-rotation feature. In other variations, the bushing can have an eccentric or oblique profile, which can act as an anti-rotation feature.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 16, 2024Publication date: December 12, 2024Inventors: Pradeep Mahadevan, TengFei Wang, Raju Ekambaram, Kean Wee Cheah, Sethuraj Arumugam, Kim Hoo Goh

Publication number: 20240175465Abstract: Rotor bearings are provided. The motor bearing can be used in an electric submersible pump motor. The bearing can include a body and one or more anti-rotation pins disposed partially in a groove in an outer surface of the body and configured to be received in a corresponding keyway in an inner diameter of a stator. The anti-rotation pin prevents or inhibits rotation of the bearing relative to the stator.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 31, 2022Publication date: May 30, 2024Inventors: Raju Ekambaram, You Cheng Jee, Arthur I. Patent number: 11920599Abstract: An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. An upthrust washer can be disposed axially between an impeller and its associated diffuser at or near a tip of the impeller, and the gap between the impeller tip and diffuser can define the end play or axial clearance for the pump. If the upthrust washer wears away, upthrust rubbing occurs at the impeller tip instead of proximate the pump shaft to advantageously help protect the shaft from damage or failure related to heat. In some ESPs, an upthrust bearing assembly can be located at the pump head. A downthrust washer can be disposed in an upstream facing groove of the impeller. The downthrust washer can have a thickness greater than 0.10 in.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2020Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: SCHLUMBERGER TECHNOLOGY CORPORATIONInventors: Raju Ekambaram, Teng Fei Wang, Pradeep Mahadevan, Kean Wee Cheah, David Milton Eslinger

Patent number: 11434592Abstract: The length of a sewing machine stitch is adjustable by varying the effective length of a first bar of a multi-bar linkage operably secured to a feed dog of the sewing machine. The effective length of the first bar is defined between an anchor point and a pivot point, with the pivot point being secured to a slider configured for movement along the length of the first bar. The slider comprises a pinion gear configured to engage a gear rack of the first bar, such that rotation of the pinion gear causes movement of the slider and the pivot point relative to the anchor point. Moreover, to accommodate the adjustable stitch length, the sewing machine additionally comprises an adjustable looper thread eyelet configured to adjust the length of the looper thread path to accommodate increased tension or slack in the looper thread due to the changed stitch length.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2018Date of Patent: September 6, 2022Assignee: Hamer-Fischbein LLCInventor: Pradeep Mahadevan
