  • Publication number: 20260210363
Abstract: A technique facilitates cooling of a motor protector which may be used in an electric submersible pumping system having a submersible pump powered by a submersible motor. The motor protector may be constructed with a plurality of thrust bearing chambers which can be at least partially filled with an internal motor fluid. Each thrust bearing chamber has a thrust bearing positioned to absorb loads generated during operation of the submersible pump. Additionally, the motor protector comprises an enhanced cooling system to facilitate improved removal of heat created at the thrust bearings. The enhanced cooling system may comprise various components which help transfer heat away from the thrust bearing chambers.

  • Publication number: 20260210372
Abstract: A technique facilitates handling of thrust loads in a pump, such as a submersible pump which may be used in an electric submersible pumping system. For example, the submersible pump may comprise a plurality of pump stages disposed within an outer pump housing. Individual pump stages of the plurality of pump stages each have an impeller and a diffuser with the impeller being rotatable relative to the diffuser via a shaft. Each individual pump stage also comprises a stage thrust bearing assembly to handle thrust loads generated during operation of the submersible pump via rotation of the impellers.

  • Patent number: 12565899
Abstract: Anti-rotation bearing assemblies for electric submersible pumps are provided. An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. In use, the motor rotates the shaft, which rotates the impeller within the stationary diffuser. A bearing assembly can include a bearing sleeve disposed about the shaft and a bushing disposed radially between the bearing sleeve and the diffuser. The bearing sleeve rotates with the shaft in operation, and the bushing remains stationary with the diffuser. The bushing can have an external key that is received in a keyway or groove in the diffuser to act as an anti-rotation feature. In other variations, the bushing can have an eccentric or oblique profile, which can act as an anti-rotation feature.

  • Patent number: 12553441
Abstract: Systems and methods facilitate pumping of various fluids such as well fluids. An electric submersible pumping system is constructed with an outer housing that contains an integrated pump and motor. The pump may include an impeller disposed within a stator of the motor. The integration of the pump and the motor enables elimination of various components of traditional electric submersible pumping systems to thus provide a simpler and more compact system for pumping fluids.

  • Patent number: 12372102
Abstract: A technique facilitates the reduction of vibration in a variety of devices which have rotating components. According to an embodiment, a system may combine a shaft, a rotor mounted along the shaft for rotation with the shaft, and a vibration reduction system. The vibration reduction system incorporates the use of a key and keyway in a manner which helps balance the rotor, thus reducing vibration during operation. In some applications, the vibration reduction system is able to reduce eccentric positioning of the rotor on the shaft due to, for example, assembly clearances.

  • Patent number: 11920599
Abstract: An electric submersible pump includes a plurality of centrifugal pump stages, each stage including a rotating impeller and a stationary diffuser mounted on a shaft coupled to a motor. An upthrust washer can be disposed axially between an impeller and its associated diffuser at or near a tip of the impeller, and the gap between the impeller tip and diffuser can define the end play or axial clearance for the pump. If the upthrust washer wears away, upthrust rubbing occurs at the impeller tip instead of proximate the pump shaft to advantageously help protect the shaft from damage or failure related to heat. In some ESPs, an upthrust bearing assembly can be located at the pump head. A downthrust washer can be disposed in an upstream facing groove of the impeller. The downthrust washer can have a thickness greater than 0.10 in.

  • Patent number: 11434592
Abstract: The length of a sewing machine stitch is adjustable by varying the effective length of a first bar of a multi-bar linkage operably secured to a feed dog of the sewing machine. The effective length of the first bar is defined between an anchor point and a pivot point, with the pivot point being secured to a slider configured for movement along the length of the first bar. The slider comprises a pinion gear configured to engage a gear rack of the first bar, such that rotation of the pinion gear causes movement of the slider and the pivot point relative to the anchor point. Moreover, to accommodate the adjustable stitch length, the sewing machine additionally comprises an adjustable looper thread eyelet configured to adjust the length of the looper thread path to accommodate increased tension or slack in the looper thread due to the changed stitch length.
