  • Patent number: 11789154
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are directed to high speed remote imaging systems, such as Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) systems. Example embodiments describe systems that are configured to mitigate a walk-off effect that may limit a speed of operation of the imaging system. The walk-off effect may be characterized by a failure to steer returning signals to a designated input facet of the imaging system due to continuous rotation of mirrors associated with the steering mechanisms. The walk-off effect may be mitigating by configuring more than one input waveguide to receiving returning signals associated with an output signal. The input waveguides may be spaced apart and configured to sequentially receive the input signals. In some embodiments, walk-off mitigation may extend a range of operation of the imaging systems.

  • Patent number: 11789611
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to managing input-output operation in a zoned storage system includes identifying a first physical zone and a second physical zone within a zoned namespace solid-state drive associated with a logical zone to perform a received write operation. Data to be written in the received write operation is temporarily staged in a zone random write area associated with the identified second physical zone. Based a storage threshold of the zone random write area, a determination is made regarding when to transfer temporarily staged data to be written area to the identified second physical zone. When the storage threshold of the zone random write area determined to have exceeded, temporarily staged data to be written is transferred to the identified second physical zone.

  • Patent number: 11792651
Abstract: Methods, systems, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for an authentication-based communication link with a peripheral device are presented. In some embodiments, the peripheral device receives, from a host device, and stores, in a memory of the peripheral device, registration data including, for instance, a user credential, a user identifier, and/or a device identifier. Upon a request to pair the peripheral device with the same or a different host device, the peripheral device requests and receives, from such a host device, authentication data including a user credential, a user identifier, and/or a device identifier. The peripheral device determines whether a match exists between the received authentication data and the registration data. If so, a communication link is established with the host device.

  • Patent number: 11789525
Abstract: A multi-modal interactive apparatus provides for output and input using a plurality of modalities. A display presents image output and speakers provide audio output. A sensor module includes sensors such as a microphone array, camera, radar, ambient light sensor, and so forth. Based on how the apparatus is mounted to a supporting structure, in one implementation the overall orientation of the apparatus may be arranged to provide a desired field-of-view (FOV) to the sensors. For example, based on mounting height, the orientation places the sensor module on a top or bottom of the mounted device. Within the sensor module, one or more sensors may be mounted with a pitch angle that directs the FOV to encompass users during typical operation. In another implementation, the sensor module may be repositioned with respect to the apparatus to provide the desired FOV, such as moved from top to bottom.

  • Patent number: 11789149
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are directed to polarization separation of laser signals and/or incoming light signals associated with an imaging system, such as a Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) system. Example embodiments describe a system configured to direct incoming light signals to a polarization separator and capturing the two polarization states of the incoming light signals. In some instances, the laser signal may be converted into two different polarization states. The system may individually process the two polarization states of the incoming light signals along with the corresponding polarization state of the laser reference signal to extract information associated with reflecting objects within the field-of-view of the imaging system. The polarization separator may be a birefringent crystal positioned adjacent to an edge of a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) that is used for processing outgoing and incoming light signals associated with the imaging system.

  • Patent number: 11790006
Abstract: Providing a search interface for a database includes receiving string data entered via a user interface. A sequence of tokens representative of the string data is determined. Determining the sequence of tokens includes applying natural language processing to the string data. A first database query is generated in accordance with the sequence of tokens. Respective text representations for tokens in the sequence of tokens are presented via the user interface. Feedback data related to the sequence of tokens is received via the user interface. A token of the sequence of tokens is modified based on the feedback data to obtain a modified sequence of tokens. A second database query is generated based on the modified sequence of tokens. Results data are obtained from the database responsive to execution of the second database query by the database. Data based on the results data are output for presentation in the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20230325981
Abstract: In implementations of systems for single image reflection removal, a computing device implements a removal system to receive data describing a digital image that depicts light reflected by a surface and light transmitted through the surface. The removal system predicts an edge map of a transmitted image for the light transmitted through the surface by processing the data using a first machine learning model trained on a first type of training data. A reflected component is predicted for the light reflected by the surface by processing the data using a second machine learning model trained on a second type of training data. A corrected digital image is generated that does not depict the light reflected by the surface based on the data, the edge map of the transmitted image, and the reflected component.
