  • Publication number: 20220169541
Abstract: Provided herein are processes for the removal and/or recovery of a target metal from a liquid sample, said process comprising: [1] applying acoustic cavitation to the liquid; and [2] adding an iron (II) salt, or a precursor form thereof, to the liquid sample and allowing Fenton oxidation reaction to occur between the iron and hydrogen peroxide in the liquid, thereby producing hydroxyl radicals; thereby producing a target metal salt or metal oxide having a reduced solubility in the liquid sample, leading to removal of the target metal from the liquid sample. The use of metal ligands in such processes is also described, as well as systems for performing such processes. Methods, processes, and systems for removing organic contaminants from a liquid sample are also described.

  • Publication number: 20220172511
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and techniques for synchronizing cameras and tagging images for face authentication. For face authentication by a facial recognition model, a dual infrared camera may generate an image stream by alternating between capturing a “flood image” and a “dot image” and tagging each image with metadata that indicates whether the image is a flood or a dot image. Accurately tagging images can be difficult due to dropped frames and errors in metadata tags. The disclosed systems and techniques provide for the improved synchronization of cameras and tagging of images to promote accurate facial recognition.

  • Publication number: 20220173672
Abstract: A system and method for identifying and responding to a condition in which an electric motor fails to start. A rotor core includes slots in which magnets are received to produce an electrical reluctance. A motor controller determines a position of the rotor, uses the determined position to convert a torque demand to a demanded D-axis current value, and compares the demanded value to a supplied D-axis current value. If the demanded value differs from the supplied value by at least a pre-established threshold amount, then the motor is restarted. Otherwise, the difference between the torque demand and an actual current is used to drive a voltage applied to the motor. The controller may also implement a sensorless technology, and may restart the motor if the demanded value differs from the supplied value by at least the threshold amount even if the sensorless technology determines that the motor started.

  • Patent number: 11348688
Abstract: Presented are systems and methods for the accurate acquisition of medical measurement data of a body part of patient. To assist in acquiring accurate medical measurement data, an automated diagnostic and treatment system provides instructions to the patient to allow the patient to precisely position a medical instrument in proximity to a target spot of a body part of patient. For a stethoscope examination, the steps may include utilizing object tracking to determine if the patient has moved the stethoscope to a recording site; utilizing DSP processing to confirm that the stethoscope is in operation, utilizing DSP processing to generate a pre-processed audio sample from a recorded audio signal; using machine learning (ML) to determine if a signal of interest (SOI) is present in the pre-processed sample. If SoI is present, using ML to evaluate characteristics in the signal which indicate the presence of abnormalities in the organ being measured.

  • Patent number: 11349938
Abstract: A non-MNO PSP network maintains a table that maps external subscriber identifiers of UEs to intermediate subscriber identifiers of the UEs on an interface between the non-MNO PSP network and NHN(s). The non-MNO PSP network obtains an SCEF-related message including either an external subscriber identifier or an intermediate subscriber identifier for the UE. Using the table, the non-MNO PSP network forwards the SCEF-message to a serving NHN or to an external application. In another embodiment, an NHN maintains a table that maps internal identifiers of UEs within the NHN to intermediate subscriber identifiers that identify the UEs on an interface between the NHN and non-MNO PSP(s). The NHN obtains an SCEF-related message that includes an intermediate subscriber identifier or an internal identifier for the UE. Using the table, the NHN either processes the SCEF-related message within the NHN, or forwards the SCEF-related message to a non-MNO PSP outside the NHN.

  • Patent number: 11348357
Abstract: A method may include prompting a user to place their finger within a given sub-region of a fingerprint sensing surface and then obtaining the user's fingerprint. The given sub-region may be selected based on a determined or estimated probability that the given sub-region contains a latent fingerprint. As examples, the given sub-region may be determined randomly, pseudo-randomly, or based on information in a log of historical touch and/or fingerprint locations. The method may further involve tracking which sub-regions of the fingerprint sensing surface may potentially have latent fingerprints. The method may involve prompting the user to wipe one or more sub-regions of the fingerprint sensing surface when more than a predetermined fraction of the fingerprint-sensing surface has been used to obtain fingerprint images.

  • Patent number: 11347720
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments for a data transfer and resource management system. An embodiment operates by retrieving both data and a schema from a table. A first offset corresponding to the retrieved data indicating a retrieval time of the retrieved data and a number of records is identified. It is determined that the retrieved data corresponds to the schema. The data is stored on a messaging platform and made available to be pulled by one or more end users prior to a transfer to one or more cloud servers. A second offset corresponding to a number of records of the data retrieved by the one or more end users from the messaging platform is determined. It is validate that the second offset corresponds to the first offset. The records and the schema retrieved from the intermediary messaging platform are transferred to the one or more cloud servers.

  • Publication number: 20220165907
Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure describe a stressed Ge PD and fabrications techniques for making the same. In one embodiment, a stressor material is deposited underneath an already formed Ge PD. To do so, wafer bonding can be used to bond the wafer containing the Ge PD to a second, handler wafer. Doing so provides support to remove the substrate of the wafer so that a stressor material (e.g., silicon nitride, diamond-like carbon, or silicon-germanium) can be disposed underneath the Ge PD. The stress material induces a stress or strain in the crystal lattice of the Ge which changes its bandgap and improves its responsivity.
