  • Publication number: 20070078284
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of oxidation of alcohols selectively to aldehydes or ketones with molecular oxygen using a TEMPO based catalyst, Fe-bipyridyl or Fe-phenantroline co-catalyst and N-bromosuccinimide promoter in acetic acid solvent. The oxidation takes places at high rates and high aldehyde selectivity at temperatures in the range 45-50° C. and oxygen or air pressures of 0-15 psi. The alcohol conversion of 95-100% and aldehyde selectivity higher than 95% are achieved over 3-4 hours reaction time. Aldehydes such as 3,3-dimethyl-1-butanal can be produced efficiently using the present invention.

  • Patent number: 7200793
Abstract: Error checking and correcting (ECC) is performed on data held in a content addressable memory. An error check circuit receives words from a memory circuit or circuits, generates an error status and generates a corrected value when appropriate. A control circuit sequences through each of the words of the memory circuit(s), periodically reads from the memory circuit the next word in the sequence and provides the next word to the error check circuit. The bandwidth consumed by the periodic error check phase can be controlled by adjusting the interval between reads.

  • Patent number: 7200112
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for internetworking WWAN and WLAN are disclosed. More specifically, a method, system, and apparatus for a mobile station to sense and select a WLAN or a WWAN are disclosed. A mobile station may communicate according to an 802.xx wireless local area network air interface protocol via WLAN logic or according to a wireless wide area network air interface protocol via WWAN logic. The mobile station detects RF energy in the 802.xx spectrum and, in response to the energy detection, determines whether there is an 802.xx WLAN capable of servicing the mobile station by performing a scanning operation. If there is an 802.xx WLAN capable of servicing the mobile station, the mobile station selects the WLAN logic so that it may communicate via an air interface. Under some embodiments, WWAN has information identifying the areas in which capable WLANs operate and the WWAN provisions the mobile station with at least a subset of such information.

  • Patent number: 7197515
Abstract: A solution is described that declares elements, attributes, and values that define a hierarchical data file or a markup-language document. The declarations by the solution are within the solution and include a presentation application and a markup-language schema from which the markup-language document can be inferred as having a structure based on the markup-language schema. Portions of the markup-language document are logically coupled with fragments of the markup-language schema. The presentation application, when executed, forms an electronic form containing data-entry fields associated with the coupled portions. The solution can include a manifest of all files that can be used for representing the markup-language document in the electronic form. The files also allow a user in input data into the one or more data-entry fields and control the validation of the data that the user inputs into the one or more data-entry fields.

  • Patent number: 7197363
Abstract: A microwave antenna having a curved configuration is described herein. The antenna portion is formed into various shapes whereby the antenna substantially encloses, by a partial or complete loop or enclosure, at least a majority of the tissue to be irradiated. When microwave energy is delivered through the antenna, the curved configuration forms an ablation field or region defined by the curved antenna and any tissue enclosed within the ablation region becomes irradiated by the microwave energy. The microwave antenna is deployed through one of several methods, and multiple curved antennas can be used in conjunction with one another. Moreover, RF energy can also be used at the distal tip of the antenna to provide a cutting tip for the antenna during deployment in tissue.

  • Publication number: 20070067282
Abstract: A domain-based spam-resistant ranking architecture that computes trust in a domain based on web-servers on which a domain is hosted and a set of other domains that link to the domain. The ranks of pages are computed based on how much trust there is in each domain and which pages link to it. Web documents are ranked in a spam-resistant manner by assigning uniform significance to each IP address of a network location and then assigning trust values to domains hosted on those IP addresses. Then, based on a domain graph, the invention constructs a domain-rank which is an estimate of how authoritative the domain is. The domain ranks are then used to assign a minimum rank to each document.

  • Patent number: 7194595
Abstract: A technique translates a hybrid virtual volume (vvol) having a file system that contains intermingled virtual and physical volume block numbers (vbns) into a “pure” stream of virtual vbns (vvbns). The stream of vvbns is illustratively embodied as an output file system data stream of a vvol image that is transferred by a source storage system (“source”) to a destination storage system (“destination”) in accordance with image transfer operations, such as volume copying and synchronous or asynchronous mirroring, provided by a volume replication facility. The blocks that are sent as part of the image transfer are selected from a container file of the hybrid vvol on the source. In particular, the invention is directed to a technique for translating physical vbns (pvbns) of a source aggregate on the source to pure vvbns of the output file system data stream that can be used on a destination aggregate of the destination, where embedded pvbns in the source hybrid vvol image are not valid.
