Abstract: A system for analyzing a piece of code includes a symbolic state generator adapted to generate symbolic states for statements in the piece of code where exceptions occur. The symbolic state generator is also adapted to provide the symbolic states as inputs to a static analyzer. The system includes a user interface adapted to transfer an exception specifier having an exception causing state to a static analyzer. The static analyzer is adapted to receive the symbolic states from the symbolic state generator and the exception specifier having the exception causing state from the user interface. The static analyzer is adapted to compare the symbolic states with the exception causing states and to provide a output on a basis of the comparison. The exception specifier includes an exception causing state and represents a language run-time exception or a user defined exception.

Abstract: A system for refactoring a block of software may include an analyzer for receiving a set of workflows via a user interface and configured to analyze each of the workflows one at a time to determine a set of refactoring opportunity, the user interface configured to transfer the set of workflows from a user to the analyzer and to transfer a set of refactoring opportunity from the analyzer to said user after said analysis of said set of workflows. The system also includes set of refactoring opportunity into a step-wise arrangement of implementation of said set of refactoring opportunity on said block of software, an implementation device for implementing said set of refactoring opportunity on said block of software to produce a refactored block of software and over a design associated to said block of software to produce a refactored design associated to said refactored block of software.

Abstract: A system and method for generating test frames in specification-based testing by using a path-coverage criterion is provided. The method includes receiving a test design as an input, and constructing a context-free grammar graph, based on the test design. The method further includes analyzing the context-free grammar graph to generate a first set of paths, and emitting a set of test frames as an output, based on the first set of paths.
