  • Patent number: 10628152
Abstract: A device may receive information that identifies code associated with an application. The device may generate a technical description of the code based on the information that identifies the code associated with the application. The device may generate a set of rules based on the technical description of the code. The set of rules being associated with a semantics of business vocabulary and business rules (SBVR) format. The device may generate a set of microservices based on the set of rules. The device may provide information that identifies the set of microservices to cause an action to be performed.

  • Patent number: 10255081
Abstract: A method for decommissioning an application operating on a computer system or a computer system includes receiving, at a decommissioning system, information that specifies a server to analyze. The decommissioning system determines one or more applications operating on the server, one or more instruction code libraries that are being utilized by the one or more applications, and hardware dependencies of the one or more instruction code libraries. Based on the determined hardware dependencies, the decommissioning system determines whether the application is suitable for migration to a cloud computing system. The decommissioning system generates a report indicating a suitability for migration of the application to the cloud computer system.

  • Patent number: 8776007
Abstract: A cost per unit of processed code metric is determined based on a quantity of processed code during a given time period that is attributable to one or more developers, and a cost to develop the quantity of processed code during the time period attributable to the one or more developers. Also, a quality scaling factor is calculated based on quality measurements for the quantity of processed code. Thereafter, the cost per unit of processed code metric is scaled (or discounted) by the quality scaling factor to provide a cost of development index (CDI). Because the inputs to the quality scaling factor may be determined in an automated fashion, this CDI determination permits more rapid response to any adverse assessments. Furthermore, because direct measurement of code quality is employed, more meaningful insight is provided into the likelihood that end product, i.e., the software code, is of good quality.

  • Patent number: 8694960
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, a computer system and a computer program product are for displaying a user interface component according to an implementation language independent description of the user interface component are provided. The method may comprise selecting, based on a characteristic of the implementation language independent description, a description parser and receiving the implementation language independent description, and determining an implementation language for displaying the user interface component. Also, the method may comprise parsing, by the description parser, the implementation language independent description, identifying a presentation rule, and selecting a set of instructions for processing the parsed description. In addition, the method may comprise processing the parsed description according to the set of instructions in order to create an implementation language dependent specification of the user interface component.
