  • Publication number: 20110008747
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making a dental appliance of a patient is provided. An electronic scan is made to collect data about the anatomy of the patient's mouth. The first computer digitally receives the data processes it with data of the patient to create facebow data, and transmitting the facebow data to a second computer, which transfers the facebow data to a second articulator. The second articulator duplicates the set up of the first articulator based on that data.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20090311664
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions and methods for cancer cell detection in bodily samples wherein a cancer cell can be detected within a mixed population of cancer cells and non-cancer cells. The invention also relates to compositions and methods that may be used in cancer cell detection, specifically viruses that are replication-competent conditional to a cancer cell, in particular an oncolytic herpes virus, such as NV 1066 and a vaccinia virus, such as GLV-1h68. Provided are methods and kits for using these viruses that preferentially replicate in cancer cells and may also preferentially infect cancer cells for specific identification of such cancer cells, even when a cancer cell is present, for example, at a ratio of one infected cancer cell in a background often thousand non-cancer cells, thus further providing a reproducible and sensitive screening method for cancer detection, monitoring and prognosis.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 21, 2006
    Publication date: December 17, 2009

  • Publication number: 20090287332
Abstract: There is provided a system for fabricating at least a portion of a denture. The system includes a three-dimensional scanning device for scanning a surface of a denture template, and a computer-readable medium including a computer program for receiving data from the scanning device, creating a 3-dimensional model of the surface, and optionally modifying the 3-dimensional model and/or adding features to the 3-dimensional model. The system also includes a fabricator for creating the at least the portion of the denture, from a selected material, based on the 3-dimensional model. The fabricator may be a device including a lathe, or a rapid prototyping machine. There is also provided a method for fabricating at least a portion of a denture.

  • Publication number: 20070178150
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition in the form of a chewable tablet for the suppression of gastric reflux comprising an alginic acid or salt thereof, a water-soluble carbonate radical precursor, a calcium salt, a first bulk sweetener, and a binding agent. The calcium salt and either or both of the bulk sweetener and the binding agent may be blended via any of wet granulation, spray drying, or compression processes prior to admixture with the alginic acid and the carbonate radical precursor.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20050266079
Abstract: The present invention is directed to application of novel process conditions for aqueous coating techniques of water soluble active agents, and its application to production of sustained release beadlets of said agents. The improvement lies in the determination and use of the glass transition point for the water swellable polymer used to produce the sustained release effect, and control of the moisture content of the air by dew point.
