  • Patent number: 11968154
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to a method of operating a user equipment (UE) for wireless communication with a network. In some aspects, the UE obtains a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) from a network. The MAC CE may be configured to indicate any one of a plurality of state transition actions for a secondary cell. The UE transitions to a secondary cell dormant state when a state transition action indicated by the MAC CE includes a transition to the secondary cell dormant state. The UE operates in the secondary cell dormant state.

  • Patent number: 11109438
Abstract: In an aspect, while a mobile device is operating in a RRC_Idle State, an RRC_Suspended State, an RLF State and/or an RLF Recovery Procedure State, the mobile device may transmit a connection establishment message to a base station of a plurality of base stations. In an aspect, the connection establishment message includes information that indicates whether the mobile device has information associated with signals transmitted by one or more base stations of the plurality of base stations. The mobile device may initiate transmission of the information associated with the signals to the base station subsequent to establishing a security context for the connection between the mobile device and the base station. In some aspects, the mobile device may scramble the information associated with signals and transmit the information associated with signals to the base station prior to establishing a security context for a connection between the mobile device and the base station.

  • Patent number: 11006347
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first information element (IE) and a second IE, wherein the first IE indicates whether all UEs that do not support cell-specific reference signal (CRS) muting are barred from a carrier and the second IE indicates whether all UEs that support CRS muting are barred from the carrier; and selectively access the carrier based at least in part on at least one of the first IE or the second IE. In some aspects, a UE may determine whether the UE supports cell-specific reference signal (CRS) muting; and transmit, to a base station, a capability report that indicates whether the UE supports CRS muting. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 10999133
Abstract: Aspects encompassing public land mobile network (PLMN) configurations are disclosed. In one example, first and second PLMN configurations are determined, and a parameter having a common identifier between a hybrid PLMN and a PLMN from a different PLMN configuration is identified, such that the hybrid PLMN may connect with a first or second core network type. Inclusion of the common identifier is limited to either the first or second PLMN configuration via an index, and the first and second PLMN configurations are transmitted. In another example, first and second PLMN configurations are received, and a hybrid PLMN in one of the two PLMN configurations is selected. A determination is made whether to use the hybrid PLMN to connect with a first or second core network type. Whether a hybrid PLMN parameter was ascertained via the first or second PLMN configuration is reported. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.

  • Publication number: 20170150548
Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to a user equipment (UE) that can receive a configuration for a radio bearer with an SCell in a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration procedure initiated by a primary cell (PCell) serving the UE. A component carrier with the SCell can be activated based at least in part on receiving a control element indicating to activate the component carrier for the radio bearer. It can be determined whether a first deactivation timer, for deactivating the component carrier with the SCell after a period of detected inactivity on the SCell, is configured by the PCell. A second deactivation timer can be configured for deactivating the component carrier with the SCell based at least in part on a determination that the first deactivation timer is not configured by the PCell or that a first configured duration of the first deactivation timer achieves a threshold.

  • Publication number: 20160095033
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus, e.g., UE, suspends a discarding process of data packets associated with a first RAT during tune away by the UE to a second RAT by stopping a discard timer. The UE restarts the discarding process in response to an occurrence of a triggering event. The triggering event may occur when the UE tunes back to the first RAT, or when a duration of the UE tune away to the second RAT exceeds a threshold. The discarding process may be restarted by resuming the discard timer at the point in time where it was stopped or by resetting the timer to zero.
