    Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for NR cell prioritization based on carrier bandwidths. An embodiment operates by storing a plurality of neighboring cell frequencies and respective carrier bandwidths of the plurality of neighboring cell frequencies. The embodiment determines whether a carrier bandwidth corresponding to a neighboring cell frequency of the plurality of neighboring cell frequencies is less than a serving cell carrier bandwidth. In response to a determination that the carrier bandwidth corresponding to the neighboring cell frequency is less than the serving cell carrier bandwidth, the embodiment determines a biased signal strength measurement by adding an offset to a signal strength measurement corresponding to the neighboring cell frequency, where the offset is determined based at least in part on a data throughput requirement of the UE.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for implementing prioritized return of a UE to NR RAT from a GSM/UMTS RAT through RAT reselection based approach. An embodiment operates by determining whether the UE is camped on a first radio access technology (RAT), and in response to a determination that the UE is camped on the first RAT, stores a list of frequencies and a plurality of cell reselection parameter values corresponding to the first RAT. The embodiment determines whether the UE is camped on a second RAT and whether one of a plurality of trigger conditions is satisfied, and in response to a determination that the UE is camped on the second RAT and that one of the plurality of trigger conditions is satisfied, performs measurements on one or more frequencies of the list of frequencies. The embodiment performs cell reselection to a cell of the first RAT based at least in part on the measurements and the plurality of cell reselection parameter values.

    Abstract: Techniques are provided for implementing a cell selection procedure to get a user equipment (UE) into service on prioritized RAT after an out-of-service detection. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a method including determining, by a user equipment (UE), whether the UE has a loss of service, and in response to determining that the UE has the loss of service, initiating an initial cell selection (ICS) and starting a timer. The method further includes determining whether a suitable cell is identified during the ICS and determining whether the timer has expired. The method further includes, in response to determining that a suitable cell is not identified during the ICS and the timer has expired, pausing the ICS, and performing an intermediate stored information cell selection (ISICS) to identify a suitable cell.

    Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for the reselection of a Radio Access Technology (RAT) for a multi-mode user equipment (UE). A UE can determine that the UE camps on a first RAT for service by a first public land mobile network (PLMN) and that the UE camps on a second RAT for service by a second PLMN, and store information about the first RAT for the first PLMN. The UE can further determine whether there is a trigger event to enable the UE to switch from the second RAT to the first RAT. In response to a determination that there is the trigger event, the UE can determine whether a cell in the first RAT for the first PLMN is available for the UE to camp on to select the available cell in the first RAT to register the UE with the first PLMN.
