Publication number: 20240104547Abstract: According to an aspect of an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method may include receiving a quick response (QR) code from a computing device, the QR code including a first entity identifier, and analyzing the QR code to determine a request to initiate a data transfer between a first entity associated with the first entity identifier and a second entity, and to determine one or more characteristics associated with the data transfer. The method may also include, based on the one or more characteristics, identifying a first QR code processing flow from multiple QR code processing flows to follow to process the data transfer, and verifying the first entity in the transaction based on the first entity identifier of the QR code and based on the first QR code processing flow. The method may also include processing the data transfer between the second entity and the first entity based on the first QR code processing flow.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 28, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Prashant Jamkhedkar, Patrick Babcock, Anant Ganapathy, Haoyu Xue, Jie Leng, Amarnath Kulkarni

Publication number: 20230252414Abstract: A method performed by a platform for real-time intake capacity assessment of a project includes routing, to a service desk, a request to assess capacity for the project. In response, an electronic message is communicated with a link to a form to retrieve structured information about the project. An assessment template is populated with structured information that includes feature-level information of the project (e.g., a level-of-effort (LOE) for developing a software product). The platform can dynamically estimate a capacity measure for the project, which is then used to generate a visualization on a dashboard based on the estimate of the capacity measure. As such, the platform enables better decision-making, planning, and prioritization.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2022Publication date: August 10, 2023Inventors: Prashant Kulkarni, Debadrita Roy, Sreevidya Baladhandapani, Sampath Devadiga, Yehuda Maor

Publication number: 20230201644Abstract: A concealed sprinkler can include a body that defines an outlet, a seal that seals the outlet, an activation element coupled with the seal, a housing, a cover plate, and a wall. The activation element changes from a first state to a second state responsive to a fire condition to allow the seal to be displaced from the outlet. The housing extends from a first housing end that extends from the body to a second housing end, and defines a chamber around the activation element. The cover plate is coupled with the second housing end. The wall extends towards the activation element to form an air flow channel to the activation element adjacent to the wall. At least one of the cover plate and the wall are removably coupled with the body.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2021Publication date: June 29, 2023Applicant: Tyco Fire Products LPInventors: Alex Laprade, Sean E. Cutting, Krista Nolan, Barbara L. Churchill, Steven L. Shields, Prashant A. Kulkarni

Patent number: 9474989Abstract: An immiscible lipophilic or hydrophilic liquid phase separated respectively from a continuous hydrophilic phase or a lipophilic phase liquid. Fibers having hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties are formed into a filter. The separation mechanism involves capture of small droplets of the immiscible phase, coalescence of the small droplets into larger droplets as the immiscible liquid flows through the fiber filter, and release of the large immiscible droplets from the filter. Regarding separation of a hydrophilic immiscible fluid such as water in a lipophilic continuous fluid such as oil, the hydrophobic fibers cause small water droplets to migrate towards the hydrophilic fibers whereby large droplets form on hydrophilic surface. The large droplets stay on hydrophilic fiber surface for extended periods of time and continue to coalescence until they are so large that they can no longer be maintained by the hydrophilic fibers and are released and drained off of the filter.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2014Date of Patent: October 25, 2016Assignee: The University of AkronInventors: George Chase, Prashant Kulkarni

Patent number: 8851298Abstract: An immiscible lipophilic or hydrophilic liquid phase is separated respectively from a continuous hydrophilic or a lipophilic phase liquid. Fibers having hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties are formed into a filter. The separation mechanism involves coalescence of the small droplets into larger droplets as the immiscible liquid flows through the fiber filter, and release of the large immiscible droplets from the filter. With respect to separation of a hydrophilic immiscible fluid in a lipophilic continuous fluid, the hydrophobic fibers cause small water droplets to migrate towards the hydrophilic fibers whereby large droplets are formed on hydrophilic surface. The large droplets coalescence until they are so large that they are released and drained off of the filter. The filter media can be designed by mixing hydrophilic and hydrophobic fibers in various proportions to achieve an optimum wettability range for separation of the immiscible liquid from the continuous phase liquid.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2013Date of Patent: October 7, 2014Assignee: The University of AkronInventors: George Chase, Prashant Kulkarni

Patent number: 8409448Abstract: An immiscible lipophilic or hydrophilic liquid phase separated respectively from a continuous hydrophilic phase or a lipophilic phase liquid. Fibers having hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties are mixed, layered, etc., and formed into a filter. The separation mechanism involves capture of small droplets of the immiscible phase, coalescence of the small droplets into larger droplets as the immiscible liquid flows through the fiber filter, and release of the large immiscible droplets from the filter. With respect to separation of a hydrophilic immiscible fluid such as water in a lipophilic continuous fluid such as oil, the hydrophobic fibers will cause small water droplets to migrate towards the hydrophilic fibers whereby large droplets are formed on hydrophilic surface.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2010Date of Patent: April 2, 2013Assignee: The University of AkronInventors: George Chase, Prashant Kulkarni

Patent number: 8001478Abstract: Computer software, systems and methods for providing context personalized browsing over computer networks. In the foregoing, an intelligent agent referred to as a “browser companion agent” includes a service component for holding one or more service modules that may assist a user by providing services that are contextually relevant to content on a browser on the user's computer system. The agent also includes a data component for holding data objects related to and sharable by one or more service modules. The agent further includes a tracking component for tracking the pages on a browser and for communicating browser page data to a remote computer system that may respond to the agent with data or code for use by service modules. Contemplated service modules include a comparison shopping service, a transaction tracking service, and automated form filling service.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2005Date of Patent: August 16, 2011Assignee: Shopzilla, Inc.Inventors: Rajesh Bhatia, Nikhil Ganju, Anil Kamath, Prashant Kulkarni, Phoumrin Tan
