Abstract: A tracking system includes a hub coupled to a client device, such as a computer or mobile phone, and one or more tags configured to wirelessly communicate with the hub. The hub includes a web server and a radio frequency transceiver. A browser executing on the client device exchanges data with the web server included in the hub, allowing location of the one or more tags via the client device without installation of a dedicated application on the client device for communicating with the hub or with the one or more tags. Additionally, the client device may communicate with a remote server via a network to communicate with additional tags via the browser executing on the client device. The hub transmits an activation request to the one or more tags via near field communication, radio frequency communication, or another suitable wireless communication method.
