  • Publication number: 20120089593
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for query optimization based on reporting specifications are described herein. A plurality of data provider objects are categorized into one or more used data provider objects that are used in a report at a first instance and one or more unused data provider objects that are not used in the report at the first instance. The plurality of data provider objects is part of a query. A modified query is then created by excluding the unused data provider objects. Data of the used data provider objects is retrieved and stored in a local data source using the modified query. The unused data provider objects are displayed such that they are differentiated from the used data provider objects and can be selected for use in the report at the second instance.

  • Publication number: 20110289631
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing male sterile plants. It involves selective killing of reproductive cells in plants by using an autophagy related gene plant BECLIN I/ATG6. An expression cassette comprising plant BECLIN I/ATG6, regulated by a tapetum specific promoter can induce killing of tapetum cells. A particular area of interest is transforming a plant with said genetic construct and expression of the plant BECLIN I/ATG6 gene in tapetum at early stage of anther development to cause early collapse of tapetum to produce nonviable pollen, thus imparting male sterility in plants.

  • Patent number: 8010818
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for saving power in a device coupled to a bus, the device is placed to operate in a power saving mode by powering off a selective portion of the device including a device clock. If data communication over the bus is addressed to the device then the selective portion of the device, including the device clock, is triggered to return to a power on state from the power off state. The data communication is stored in shadow registers using a bus clock while the device clock is transitioning to the power on state. The data communication stored in the shadow registers is transferred to a register map under the control of the device clock operating in the power on state. Upon completion of the transfer of the data communication to the register map, the device is returned to operate in the power saving mode.

  • Patent number: 7955663
Abstract: Processes for the simultaneous and selective growth of single walled and multiwalled carbon nanotubes in a single set of experiments are disclosed. The processes may include preparing a graphite electrode rod containing catalyst selected from Fe, Co, Ni, and a mixture thereof, acting as an anode. The process may include preparing another graphite electrode rod, each electrode having a distal and a proximal end. The process may include placing the above said two electrodes parallel to each other and their axis being substantially aligned in a chamber. The process may further include creating a DC-arc discharge inside the chamber by applying a DC-current voltage. The process may further include an cooling assembly having a cooling coil that surrounds the two electrodes. The cooling assembly may be used to maintain a temperature gradient that permits the depositing of single walled and multiwalled carbon nanotubes simultaneously in one experiment.

  • Patent number: 7933868
Abstract: A method of removing metadata from a database in a multimode replication system includes establishing a metadata retention period for nodes in the system as well as associating changes with nodes on the system. The system responds to an expiration of the retention period for any one node by analyzing the associated changes and nodes and determining if the change affects data shared with other nodes. If the data is shared with other nodes then the expired retention period node metadata is removed from the system. If the expired metadata retention period node does not share the changes with other nodes, the metadata is not removed. This allows any unique changes to still be entered into the database without adversely affecting other nodes.

  • Publication number: 20110078118
Abstract: Performing a backup is disclosed. A changed portion of a file system tree is determined based at least in part on a stored state of the file system tree at a time a prior block based backup of the file system tree was performed. Incremental metadata associated with the changed portion is obtained. The obtained incremental metadata is stored where there is at least some metadata associated with an unchanged portion of the file system tree that is not stored when storing the obtained incremental metadata.

  • Publication number: 20110076702
Abstract: The present invention discloses the detection of an important 12K-Da protein having cross-reactivity amongst different prevalent allergenic grasses and fungi can be useful for detection of respiratory allergies. Conventionally, the whole extracts that are used for diagnosis are unable to specifically detect the causative agents. In addition, they are also responsible for additional non-specific sensitivities in patients to other components present in the extract. If a single cross-reactive protein is available, it can replace large number of extracts used for detection of raised IgE levels in allergy by ELISA, immunoblotting and the likes. Further, number of pricks would be reduced and this would benefit both patient and clinicians. It is further realized that production of such a protein by recombinant methods can lead to its availability in pure form and bulk amounts required for routine diagnosis.
