    Abstract: A method and apparatus for a chip tracking system. For example, an apparatus comprises a chip tray and a tracking controller. The chip tray has a plurality of light sensors positioned inside a column. In some instances, the tracking controller is configured to perform operations that cause the apparatus to detect a level of ambient light at each of the plurality of light sensors and determine, in response to detection of the level of ambient light at each of the plurality of light sensors, a number of gaming chips placed inside the column. The tracking controller is further configured to perform operations that cause the apparatus to compute, in response to determination of the number of gaming chips, a chip-column value. In some instances, the tracking controller is further configured to automatically indicate the chip-column value via one or more electronic devices communicatively coupled to the chip tray.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus to automatically calibrate one or more attributes of a gaming system. For instance, the gaming system determines, in response to analysis by a processor of image data via a machine-learning model, an orientation of an affixed (e.g., printed) fiducial marker positioned in a known location on a planar playing surface of a gaming table. The system also transforms, in response to determining the orientation, first geometric data associated with an object on the planar playing surface to isomorphically equivalent second geometric data. The system also digitally illustrates, via an augmented reality overlay of the image data using the isomorphically equivalent second geometric data, a graphical representation of the object positioned relative to the fiducial marker on the planar playing surface.

The logic circuitry establishes a gaming session of the casino wagering game for a player, during the gaming session, detects an object at a detected distance via a presence sensor of the gaming machine, determines whether or not the detected object is the player based on one or more object detection criteria including the detected distance, in response to the detected object being determined to be the player, maintains the gaming session, and in response to the detected object being determined to be an object other than the player, initiates an end-session counter to terminate the gaming session. The system includes: a plurality of gaming tokens; a playing surface including a network of conductors disposed to make electrical contact with the conductive rims of the gaming tokens; one or more transceivers disposed under the playing surface and associated with areas where the gaming tokens are placed on the playing surface; and an identification processor in communication with the transceiver to determine the denomination of the token from the data. Each transceiver is configured to transmit an electromagnetic interrogation signal to the conductive layer of a gaming token resting on the playing surface. The grounded circuit, in response to the interrogation signal, responds with data to identify the chip denomination through capacitive coupling between the conductive layer and a transceiver.
