  • Publication number: 20240363094
Abstract: A conversation detector processes microphone signals and other sensor signals of a headphone to declare a conversation and configures a filter block to activate a transparency audio signal. It then declares an end to the conversation based on processing one or more of the microphone signals and the other sensor signals, and in response deactivates the transparency audio signal. The conversation detector monitors an idle duration in which an OVAD and a TVAD are both or simultaneously indicating no activity and declares the end to the conversation in response to the idle duration being longer than an idle threshold. Other aspects are also described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 12089032
Abstract: Acoustic pickup beams (sound beams) can be formed in a physical environment from a plurality of microphone signals. Each of the sound beams can measure acoustic energy in a direction of the respective sound beam. Directional decay of the acoustic energy measured through each of the sound beams is determined. Room surface acoustic properties of the physical environment are determined based on mapping the directional decay of the acoustic energy to the physical environment. Other aspects are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20240292149
Abstract: Implementations of the subject technology provide systems and methods for providing environment-based audio processing for audio devices. Environment-based audio processing may include identifying an environmental condition in a physical environment of an audio device, and deactivating one or more digital signal processors and/or neural networks based on the environmental condition.

  • Publication number: 20240210519
Abstract: Aspects of the subject technology relate to determining a location of a device using sound that is output from the device. For example, an audio output from one or more speakers of an electronic device may be received at one or more microphones of another electronic device, and used by the other electronic device to determine the location of the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20240107259
Abstract: A device may include microphones worn on a head of a user. The device may include a processor, configured to obtain microphone signals from the plurality of microphones. The processor may attenuate breathing sound from the user by processing the microphone signals, resulting in attenuated microphone signals. The processor may render one or more output audio channels based on the plurality of attenuated microphone signals.

  • Publication number: 20230421945
Abstract: A method performed by a first headset worn by a first user, the method includes the first headset performing noise cancellation on a microphone signal captured by a microphone of the first headset that is arranged to capture sounds within an ambient environment in which the first user is located. The first headset receives, from a second headset that is being worn by a second user who is in the ambient environment and over a wireless communication link, at least one sound characteristic generated by at least one sensor of the second headset and passing through select sounds from the microphone signal based on the received sound characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20230104111
Abstract: One or more acoustic parameters of a current acoustic environment of a user may be determined based on sensor signals captured by one or more sensors of the device. One or more preset acoustic parameters may be determined based on the one or more acoustic parameters of the current acoustic environment of the user and an acoustic environment of an audio file comprising audio signals that is determined based on the audio signals of the audio file or metadata of the audio file. The audio signals may be spatially rendered by applying spatial filters that include the one or more preset acoustic parameters to the audio signals, resulting in binaural audio signals. The binaural audio signals may be used to drive speakers of a headset. Other aspects are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20230096953
Abstract: A method performed by a headset that includes a speaker and an in-ear microphone, the method includes performing a calibration on the headset to obtain a baseline measurement; using, while the headset is being worn by a user, an audio signal to drive the speaker that is arranged to project sound into a canal of a user's ear; capturing as a microphone signal, from the in-ear microphone of the headset, sound from within the canal of the user's ear; determining a parameter associated with the user's ear based at least on the captured microphone signal and the baseline measurement; and transmitting a notification related to one or more characteristics of one or more hearing elements of the user's ear based on the parameter.
