    Abstract: A method for use in testing an operational status of a light source for illuminating a scene, comprises using a camera to capture a first image when the light source is disabled, the light source having a fixed spatial relationship relative to the camera, and using the camera to capture a second image when the light source is enabled. The method comprises determining a test result indicating the operational status of the light source based at least in part on a light source setting when the camera captures each of the first and second images, the light source setting indicating whether the light source is disabled or enabled when the camera captures the first and second images and at least one of: one or more camera settings when the camera captures the first and second images, and one or more image properties of the first and second images.
