  • Patent number: 11944833
Abstract: Systems and methods for improved user experience with rechargers for implantable medical devices. An external charging device for providing power to a rechargeable implantable device can determine a firmware state of the external charging device during recharging of the rechargeable implantable device, display a searching indication using a light indicator when the firmware state is determined to be in a searching state, display a charging indication using the light indicator when the firmware state is determined to be a charging state, and display an error indication using the light indicator when the firmware state is determined to be an error state. An optional user device application can provide complementary graphical user interfaces according to the firmware states.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 23, 2020
Date of Patent: April 2, 2024
    Assignee: Medtronic, Inc.
Inventors: Andrew Fried, Janet Creaser, Prathyusha Marri, Charles Nowell, Robert Schulzetenberg

  • Patent number: 10595937
Abstract: A system for diagnosis or treatment of tissue in a body is provided. The system includes an ablation catheter having a deformable, elongate shaft having proximal and distal ends. The catheter further includes an ablation delivery member disposed proximate the distal end of the shaft and configured to deliver ablation energy to ablate the tissue. In one embodiment, the ablation delivery member comprises an ablation electrode and may also be configured to generate a signal indicative of electrical activity in the tissue. The catheter further includes one or more sensing electrodes disposed proximate the ablation delivery member. The sensing electrodes are configured to generate signals indicative of electrical activity in the tissue. The system further includes an electronic control unit configured to control delivery of ablation energy from the ablation delivery member responsive to one or more of the generated signals indicative of electrical activity in the tissue.

  • Publication number: 20110264000
Abstract: A method and system for determining tissue type is provided. The system comprises an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to acquire a value of an electrical parameter between a first electrode electrically coupled with tissue and a second electrode. The ECU is further configured to identify a tissue type from a plurality of tissue types based at least on the acquired value, and in an exemplary embodiment, to generate a tissue morphology map comprising a marker representative of the identified tissue type. The method comprises acquiring a value of an electrical parameter between a first electrode electrically coupled with tissue and a second electrode. The method further comprises identifying a tissue type from a plurality of tissue types based on at least the acquired value of the electrical parameter, and in an exemplary embodiment, the method further comprises generating a tissue morphology map based on the identified tissue type.
