  • Publication number: 20240024200
Abstract: An apparatus for combining a first liquid component 90 stored in a container 125 and a second component stored in a vial 7 by means of negative pressure is disclosed. A tray 1 has a vial cavity 11 and a container cavity 12. A dual-ended transfer needle 131 is fixedly held at the tray 1 at an intermediate needle holding portion 13 between the vial cavity 11 and the container cavity 12 for establishing a fluid communication between the vial 7 and the container 125 by piercing a rubber stopper of the vial and a bottom of the container, respectively. The vial cavity 11 guides the vial 7 along an axial direction AD from an intermediate position towards the transfer position for fluid communication. And the container cavity 12 guides the container 125 along the axial direction AD from an intermediate position towards the transfer position for fluid communication.

  • Patent number: 11779969
Abstract: An apparatus and process for processing outer surfaces of glass containers (50) for use in pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic applications, said glass containers (50) having a cylindrical main body (52). The process comprises: providing (S1) a plurality of containers (50); separating individual containers from said plurality of containers (50); and sequentially conveying said individual containers (50) through a processing station (1; 61). In the processing station (1; 61), the individual containers (50) are rotated about a longitudinal axis thereof while outer surfaces of the cylindrical main bodies (52) are in contact with a scrubbing member (27; 30, 35), for reducing an adhesive surface behavior of the outer surfaces of the cylindrical main bodies (52) of the individual containers. In this manner the surface properties of glass containers may be enhanced significantly with a cost-efficient and simple processing to thereby prevent undesired ‘stickiness behavior’ of the glass containers.

  • Publication number: 20230049720
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of sealing a syringe barrel having a syringe tip with a collar. The syringe tip is sealed with a resilient closure. A tamper evident syringe tip cap comprising a cap member and a sleeve member separated by an annular first breaking line is then pushed over the resilient closure, to couple the proximal end of the sleeve member with the collar. The distal end of the resilient closure is accommodated in the cap member and protrudes beyond the sleeve member. The first breaking line is bridged by a coupling strip. For use of the syringe and providing access to the closure, the first breaking line is broken by pivoting the cap member away. The sleeve member remains coupled to the collar. Further tearing the cap member downward causes breaking a second breaking line provided in the sleeve member, thereby enabling removing the entire syringe tip cap.

  • Publication number: 20220409485
Abstract: A tray for positioning, in a fixed positional relationship, a medical vial 7 together with a vial adapter 4 is disclosed. A tray member 10 includes a vial accommodation cavity 11 and a vial adapter accommodation cavity 12, each comprises retaining members 19, 37a, 37b, 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b configured to position the vial adapter 4 and the vial 7 spaced apart from each other and in axial alignment in an intermediate position. The retaining members 19, 37a, 37b, 35a, 35b, 36a, 36b are further configured to guide a relative axial movement of the vial 7 and vial adapter 4 from the intermediate position to a transfer position while maintaining the axial alignment of the vial 7 with the vial adapter 4. In the transfer position the vial adapter 4 is locked to the vial 7 and a piercing mandrel 57 pierces a vial stopper 76 for liquid transfer.

  • Patent number: 10800557
Abstract: In a method for closing a plurality of medical cartridges (5) a closure nest for supporting a plurality of closures is used, comprising a planar supporting plate having a plurality of receptacles having a plurality of tubular receptacles (61) and retaining structures for reliably accommodating the closures (200). In the method the plurality of medical cartridges (5) is supported in a corresponding cartridge nest. The closure nest is disposed above the cartridge nest so that the receptacles of the closure nest are precisely aligned with the receptacles of the cartridge nest. The closures (200) are then pushed downward out of the receptacles of the closure nest and into the cartridges (5), while the cartridges are supported by the cartridge nest. The closure nest can be directly fed on existing filling and stoppering machine set-ups for processing sealed prefillable syringe barrels, basically without the necessity of changing the set-up.

  • Publication number: 20190099557
Abstract: A syringe tip cap is provided for retaining a resilient closure at a distal end of a syringe tip of a syringe barrel, comprising a distal cap and a proximal sleeve connected via a coupling strip. An annular first breaking line is formed between the distal cap and the proximal sleeve. Frangible portions are provided as tamper indicator means. The proximal sleeve comprises a second breaking line extending nearly perpendicular to the first breaking line. For opening the cap, first the annular first breaking line is broken so the distal cap and the proximal sleeve can be partially separated. Thereby, the coupling strip serves as a hinge for pivotally coupling the distal cap and the proximal sleeve. Afterwards, the user further pulls down the distal cap in axial direction for breaking the second breaking line. The user may tear-off the syringe tip cap to access to the resilient closure.

  • Patent number: 10207832
Abstract: A supporting structure for supporting a plurality of sealed medical cartridges is disclosed, comprising a planar supporting plate having a plurality of receptacles for accommodating the sealed cartridges. Retaining protrusions are formed at the bottom ends of the receptacles protruding inward, which are mated with the shoulder portions of the sealed cartridges in such a manner that the shoulder portions of the sealed cartridges are supported on the retaining protrusions of the receptacles and that the upper ends of the sealed cartridges protrude from the upper ends of the receptacles at an upper side of the planar supporting plate, when the sealed cartridges are accommodated upside-down in the receptacles. The inventive nest will be suitable for any nested liquid filling machine without much changes in filling table and general settings.
