  • Patent number: 10007317
Abstract: A method for power optimization by an apparatus is disclosed. The method includes identifying one or more network parameters that affect one or more of a processing rate and a power usage of the processor in a connected state. The method also includes identifying a trigger event for the one or more network parameters. The method further includes adjusting a performance of the processor in the connected state when the trigger event occurs.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 21, 2014
Date of Patent: June 26, 2018
    Assignee: QUALCOMM Incorporated
Inventors: Navid Ehsan, Praveen Appu, Raghu Narayan Challa
  • Patent number: 9426743
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a methods and systems operable by a network entity for wireless communication, that includes determining that User Equipment (UE) is in idle mode and receiving eMBMS (evolved Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service); and based on the determining, activating a power optimization procedure in order to reduce power consumption of the UE. Examples of a power optimization procedures include a single or multi-level hardware shut down procedure, lowering the clock rate of hardware, and shutting down a communication bus during periods of non-use.
