The electronic transactions may involve a vendor transaction platform and a credential provisioning application. The credential provisioning application, when determined to be compatible with the vendor transaction platform, may prompt for input of a credential to be provisioned during the electronic transaction. The vendor transaction platform is kept active or otherwise prevented from performing a time-out operation while the provisioning is conducted. The provisioned credential may be submitted as payment to complete the electronic transaction and may be stored on the electronic device for use in a subsequent electronic transaction.

The second electronic device may re-provision an instance of the one or more retrieved credentials for use in electronic transactions on the second electronic device using a secure element linked to the second electronic device and information that is unique to the one or more credentials being re-provisioned to the second electronic device.

Abstract: A device implementing notification based provisioning of card accounts may include at least one processor configured to receive, from a service provider, an indication of a card account of a user, and to determine whether the card account is eligible to be added to a first device of the user for use in a wireless transaction system. The at least one processor is further configured to, when the card account is determined to be eligible to be added to the first device, transmit a notification to the first device for display, the notification indicating that the card account is eligible to be added to the first device for use in the transaction system, and initiate provisioning, on a secure element of the first device, of an applet corresponding to the card account when an approval for adding the card account to the first device is received responsive to the notification.
