Publication number: 20210118027Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for managing electronic messages to ensure fair and equitable distribution of information. Two electronic messages are generated by an electronic trading system. A first message includes relevant details of a change of state in an electronic order book due to a received order from a participant. The second message only includes an order identifier corresponding to the first message. The first message is multicast to all market participants. The second message is privately transmitted only to market participants that may access or act upon the received order as a result of a prior relationship with the participant that submitted the received order. After receiving both messages, market participants that may access or act upon the received order may screen an entire order book so that they may identify which orders in the market are available for that market participant to access or act upon.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2019Publication date: April 22, 2021Inventors: Alexis Laurence Atkinson, Joshua John Matthews, Priteshkumar Soni

Publication number: 20200410593Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to communication of financial messages from an exchange to market participants whereby messages, or at least a portion of the content thereof, indicative of changes in the market, due to one or more trades between two or more market participants, are structured so as to reduce redundant data therein and prioritize the transmission of that portion of the message which summarizes the event and result thereof. Further, these event reporting messages may further consolidate, or otherwise be combined with, the corresponding directed reporting messages communicated to the particular market participants participating in the reported trade while preserving the anonymity of those market participants to which messages are particularly directed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2020Publication date: December 31, 2020Applicant: Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc.Inventors: Paul Callaway, Fritz Caskey, Dennis Genetski, Pearce Peck-Walden, José Antonio Acuña-Rohter, Priteshkumar Soni, Rosa Frenkel

Publication number: 20200402170Abstract: Message processing is described, in which each of first and second computer systems have a message operator configured to process messages to manage a data structure having a state determined via the processing. The message operator of the first computer system is configured to reroute unprocessed messages to the message operator of the second computer system such that the message operator of the second computer system establishes an order of an input message stream and a current state of the data structure arising from the input message stream. The message operator of the second computer system is configured to, once the current state is established, send the messages of the input message stream to the message operator of the first computer system in accordance with the established order such that the current state of data structure is recreated by the message operator of the first computer system.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2019Publication date: December 24, 2020Applicant: Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc.Inventors: Dileep Chakravarthi Konduru, Zachary Bonig, Frank Kmiec, Ari L. Patent number: 10803521Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to communication of financial messages from an exchange to market participants whereby messages, or at least a portion of the content thereof, indicative of changes in the market, due to one or more trades between two or more market participants, are structured so as to reduce redundant data therein and prioritize the transmission of that portion of the message which summarizes the event and result thereof. Further, these event reporting messages may further consolidate, or otherwise be combined with, the corresponding directed reporting messages communicated to the particular market participants participating in the reported trade while preserving the anonymity of those market participants to which messages are particularly directed.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2018Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignee: Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc.Inventors: Paul Callaway, Fritz Caskey, Dennis Genetski, Pearce Peck-Walden, José Antonio Acuña-Rohter, Priteshkumar Soni, Rosa Frenkel

Publication number: 20170331774Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate generally to efficient data transmission and receipt. Specifically, the disclosed embodiments provide systems and methods for selectively combining multiple, disparate message types and transmitting same via one data feed. A consolidation system determines whether data resulting from an event can be combined or merged based on pre-determined message characteristics and state or environment information, or should be sent via two separate feeds. The merged message may be backwards-compatible so that data recipient computing systems can easily and selectively decide which portion of the merged data is relevant to the data recipient computing system, only read the relevant portions. Thus, multiple data receivers, which typically consume different message types, can receive and consume the same merged or consolidated message.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2016Publication date: November 16, 2017Inventors: Pearce Peck-Walden, Rosa Frenkel, Arkadiusz Koziol, José Antonio Acuña-Rohter, Fred Malabre, Melissa Jenner, Priteshkumar Soni
