Publication number: 20260090799Abstract: A knotless tensionable fixation system including a base, a locking element, and a lock screw. The system enables a user to achieve complex soft tissue-to-bone or bone-to-bone repair by first placing the base against a first bone segment (or fixation plate or prosthesis) and then provisionally securing multiple tensionable fixation members that may be attached to the same or different tissue or bone to be repaired. Once all tensionable fixation members have been provisionally secured to the base under the desired tension to achieve reduction of the repair, the locking element may be coupled to the base and secured by the lock screw under compression to provide a secondary or final lock simultaneously to all tensionable fixation members to securely lock all tensionable fixation members under tension at the same time and with one single locking element.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2025Publication date: April 2, 2026Inventors: Prithviraj Chavan, Forrest Samuel

Publication number: 20260060674Abstract: An orthopedic button assembly for soft tissue repair or bone repair using a method for securing sutures or fixation members in a knotless manner. The orthopedic button assembly is designed in a manner to as to not rely on an additional component to perform the locking. The orthopedic button assembly of the present disclosure includes the ability to optimally tension the repair by pulling the tensionable fixation members (e.g. sutures) in the tensioning direction and prevent slippage of the tensionable fixation members in the opposite direction by capturing the tensionable fixation members in a manner such that pulling on the tensionable fixation members in the direction opposite of the tensioning direction (e.g., if connected tissue or bone were to attempt to “pull away” from the button assembly under tension) actually increases the tension, resulting in a tighter locking interface to increase the security of the repair.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2025Publication date: March 5, 2026Inventors: Prithviraj Chavan, Forrest Samuel

Publication number: 20250160912Abstract: A bone fracture repair system using a tension/compression lock configuration is described herein. In some embodiments, the bone fracture repair system includes one or more bone anchors, one or more locking elements configured to nest within the one or more bone anchors, and one or more flexible tension members configured to interact with the bone anchors and locking elements to securely hold fractured bone fragments in place for healing, while also creating a tension band construct that prevents displacement of the bone fragments by forces that tend to pull the bone fragments apart.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2024Publication date: May 22, 2025Inventors: Prithviraj Chavan, Forrest Samuel

Patent number: 12285163Abstract: Embodiments of knotless button-suture assemblies for orthopedic stabilization are disclosed. The button-suture assembly includes a button having a first opening, a second opening and a center opening. The assembly further includes a tensioning member having two tensioning member ends exiting from the first opening and the second opening of the button and disposed in the proximal direction. The assembly further includes a locking pin mated with the button through the center opening of the button in such a manner that allows a proximal movement of the tensioning member when a pulling force is applied to the tensioning member ends towards a proximal direction and prevents a distal move-ment of the tensioning member when the pulling force applied to the loose ends of the tensioning member ceases to exist.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2022Date of Patent: April 29, 2025Assignee: Dunamis Medical Technologies, LLCInventor: Prithviraj Chavan

Publication number: 20240341746Abstract: Variable angle button-suture fixation assemblies (or “variable angle button assemblies” or “tensionable fixation assemblies”) that enable suture assemblies to be deployed at more extreme angles, which are sometimes necessitated by the affected patient anatomy. The devices disclosed herein allow for the user to adjust the tension in a tensionable fixation member (e.g., surgical suture) at a more extreme angle than allowed by other systems (and also to adjust the angle of repair if needed during use), and then lock the construct with the tensionable fixation member under tension at the adjusted angle. Although described herein in the context of a knotless repair technique, the variable angle button-suture fixation assemblies described herein may be configured for use in a knotted fixation technique, or an interlocking suture fixation technique.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2024Publication date: October 17, 2024Inventor: Prithviraj Chavan

Publication number: 20220183676Abstract: A locking device or button configured for use with a tensionable fixation member to stabilize, fix, repair bone or soft tissue is described herein. By way of example, the locking device of the present disclosure allows for optimal tensioning of the repair or construct. The locking device of the present disclosure provides repair security and prevents loosening of the repair construct by allowing passage and tensioning of the tensionable fixation member when the tensionable fixation member is pulled through the locking device in a first direction (e.g., the “tensioning direction”), and preventing passage and loosening of the tensionable fixation member (e.g. locking the tensioning member) when the tensionable fixation member is pulled in a second direction (e.g., the “opposite direction” or “loosening direction”), without the need for a secondary locking element.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 14, 2021Publication date: June 16, 2022Applicant: Dunamis Medical Technologies, LLCInventors: Forrest Samuel, Prithviraj Chavan

Publication number: 20220167962Abstract: A system and method comprising an anchor assembly including an anchor and a locking element, a tensionable fixation member (e.g., surgical suture, tape, etc.), and a release member, wherein the anchor further comprises a first end, second end and anchor body. This re-tensionable anchor is designed to be implanted into bone. One end of a suture or other tensionable fixation member is attached to the tissue on one end to assist with fixation of soft tissue. Once the anchor has been seated in the bone, the second end of the suture or tensionable fixation member is pulled through a “one-way only” passage in body of the anchor. When the tensionable fixation member enters the body of the anchor, it traverses past by bending or deflecting out of the way a locking element within the anchor that will permit passage of the suture and will stay in contact with the fixation member via elastic compression that results from the elastic bending or deflection but prevent it from passing back.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2021Publication date: June 2, 2022Applicant: Dunamis Medical Technologies, LLCInventors: Forrest Samuel, Prithviraj Chavan
