Abstract: An apparatus comprises a sensor array of capacitive sensors. A capacitive sensor of the sensor array is connected to a transmitting pin and a receiving pin, and the sensing pin and the receiving pin are connected to a sensing device. The apparatus includes the sensing device configured to perform a liquid sensing operation during runtime operation of the apparatus by dynamically ganging together a set of capacitive sensors of the sensor array as a combined capacitive sensor node, wherein the combined capacitive sensor node is connected to the sensing device by transmitting pins and receiving pins of the set of capacitive sensors, sensing the combined capacitive sensor node to create a sensing result, and evaluating the sensing result to determine whether liquid is present on the sensor array.
