  • Patent number: 8355976
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for measuring a risk of an asset portfolio. The system estimates a ?-level CVaR (Conditional Value-at-Risk) of the asset portfolio by modeling interdependencies between assets in the asset portfolio. The modeling is based on Gaussian copula model.

  • Patent number: 8121916
Abstract: A computer program product stored on machine readable media including machine readable instructions for selecting a project portfolio from available projects, the instructions for implementing a method include inputting an investment cost and a return for each available project and user-specified constraints; creating a formulation, the formulation comprising the investment cost and the return for each available project, the constraints and variables, the variables comprising for each available project a threshold probability of success and a selection decision; solving the formulation to select the project portfolio and to determine the threshold probability of success for each available project; and outputting the project portfolio and the threshold probability of success for each available project.

  • Publication number: 20110270647
Abstract: The system and method of the present disclosure allow the user to enumerate a set of risk factors for each financial metric time-profile projection, and respond to a set of questions that is linear in the number of risk factors. In one embodiment, the risk elicitation on each risk factor uses user input of likelihood of risk and impact and/or severity. On each of the risk factors for any given nominal, financial projection estimate, the inputs are systematically converted into a net impact distribution for that nominal, financial estimate.

  • Patent number: 7895152
Abstract: A metric network provides a descriptive model that explicitly expresses the relationships among all metrics of a business enterprise. Performance of each single business entity in the operational level is measured by a set of primitive metrics, each of which measures a specific aspect of the business entity. The primitive metrics construct the base on which the whole metric network is built.

  • Publication number: 20070189768
Abstract: An optical network unit (ONU) includes an optical receiving module, an energy transforming module and an adjusting module. The optical receiving module receives an optical power signal. The energy transforming module transforms the optical power signal into a level signal. The adjusting module generates a power adjusting signal in accordance with the level signal. A transmitting power of the ONU is adjusted in accordance with the power adjusting signal. A control method of an optical network unit is also disclosed, which includes the steps of: receiving an optical power signal, transforming the optical power signal into a level signal, generating a power adjusting signal in accordance with the level signal, and adjusting a transmitting power of the ONU in accordance with the power adjusting signal.

  • Patent number: 7199314
Abstract: A joystick includes a base and a cover mounted over the base. A stick has a first end that extends from the cover and a second end. An active yoke is mounted above the base and is coupled to second end of the stick. The active yoke has a first and second end. The active yoke is adapted to be moved by the stick. A passive yoke is mounted over the active yoke and has a third and fourth end. The passive yoke is adapted to be moved by the stick. A first contactor is mounted to the first end and a second contactor is mounted to the third end. A first resistor is positioned between the first contactor and the cover and a second resistor is positioned between the second contactor and the cover. The resistors are adapted to generate an electrical signal that is indicative of a position of the stick. A switch is positioned in the base below the active yoke. The switch is activated when the stick is sufficiently depressed so as to cause the active yoke to contact the switch.
