    Abstract: A method and system for allowing an individual to quickly browse and select a particular software program application and file. Each of the software programs, applications and files is assigned a first icon as well as a unique directory address and is provided in a first group. A second group consists of a plurality of software programs, applications and files related to each other, each grouping assigned a second icon. When the first icons are displayed, one of the software programs, applications and files assigned to a particular first icon could be chosen. If none of these first icons are chosen, at least one level of the second icons is displayed. When one of these second icons is depressed, another grouping of first icons would be displayed. The individual can alternate the display of the first and second icons until a particular software program, application or file has been chosen.
