Abstract: A system of monitoring an environment includes at least one sensor module. The at least one sensor module includes a housing, a power receiving module, a communication module, at least one sensor, and at least one imager module. The at least one sensor is configured to detect the presence of an occupant in the environment. The at least one imager module is configured to capture gait characteristics of the occupant triggered by the detected presence of the occupant from the at least one sensor. A control system is configured to characterize the gait characteristics of the occupant from a characterization list including at least healthy and abnormal, and, if the gait characteristics are characterized as abnormal, generate a notification.
