Abstract: A method of autoscaling in a datacenter includes receiving one or more datacenter metrics at a control service, comparing the one or more datacenter metrics to a threshold value, selecting at least one component of a server computer to scale-up, and sending an instruction to the server computer to scale-up the at least one component.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, methods, and computer readable media for optimizing resource allocation on a computing zone based on bursting data and in accordance with an allocation policy. For example, systems disclosed herein may implement a lifetime-aware allocation of computing resources to facilitate computational bursting on respective server nodes to prioritize different aspects of performance on the server nodes of a cloud computing system. The systems described herein provide a number of benefits, including, by way of example, facilitating an allocation policy that enables more densely packing virtual machines on respective server nodes, boosting individual virtual machine performance, and reducing a buffer of empty nodes that need to be maintained on one or more node clusters. This may include more densely packing virtual machines on respective server nodes.

Abstract: Techniques for improving storage journaling are disclosed. In some embodiments, the techniques may be realized as a method for improving storage journaling including recording to a journal a count of valid blocks in a first chunk of storage in flash memory, receiving a request to write a second chunk to the flash memory, determining, using a controller, whether the count of valid blocks in the first chunk is less than a specified threshold, and in the event the number of valid blocks in the first chunk is less than the specified threshold, writing the second chunk to a location of the first chunk of storage in the flash memory.

Abstract: Methods and systems for performing adaptive partitioning of a distributed cache partitioned in cache slices are provided. The slices of the distributed cache are assigned to different computer nodes of the cluster based on a routing table. After a pre-determined period of time, the cache slices can be re-assigned to other computer nodes of the cluster based on access statistics and a new routing table is provided that corresponds to the re-assignment of the cache slices to the computer nodes of the cluster.
