Abstract: A title record method to be used with a digital broadcast recorder including recording a received digital broadcast signal, and, substantially simultaneously, reading broadcast information contained in the digital broadcast signal, determining the presence or absence of a program title in the broadcast information, continuously reading the broadcast information of the next digital broadcast signal following the digital broadcast signal if no title is present in the broadcast information, and, substantially simultaneously, determining the presence or absence of the title in the next digital broadcast signal, and recording the title as a title of the recorded broadcast signal if the title is present in the broadcast information.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to record and/or read data on a recording medium including a master data processor to process a first type of data, a slave data processor to process a second type of data, and a multiplexer selecting one of interface signals outputted from the master data processor and the slave data processor to communicate with the disk driver. Additionally, the master data processor controls an operation of the slave data processor and the multiplexer to select one of the interface signals outputted from the master data processor and the slave data processor.

Abstract: A digital video recording apparatus is provided with the ability to permit a user to record images while watching those images without any time delay. The digital video recording apparatus includes an ADC for analog-to-digital converting and outputting either demodulated analog broadcast signals of a selected channel or analog AV signals inputted from an external device, an MPEG encoder for MPEG-encoding the ADC output in order to create stream data, a record-play unit for controlling so that data can be recorded onto or read from a recording medium, a background memory for buffering the stream data by a certain unit, and a controller for controlling so as to combine the stream data that is buffered in the background memory and the stream data that is encoded and created by the MPEG encoder subsequent to the buffered stream data, and to store the combined data into a recording medium, when a recording command is entered.
