Abstract: A computing device automatically determines when a user wishes to capture an image of an object in a scene via a camera of the computing device. In response, the computing device presents at a display screen an image of the scene together with an overlay template. The overlay template corresponds in shape to the object in the scene and is overlaid on the object in the scene when displayed at the display screen. The overlay template is not displayed at the display screen when the computing device does not determine that a user wishes to capture an image of an object in the scene.

Abstract: A system includes a compiler that monitors activity of a user in a chat application, the chat application including an electronic platform for one or more individuals to communicate in a group in real-time over a computer network. A processor is connected to the compiler and generates a ranked list of groups in the chat application based on the activity of the user. A display is connected to the processor and displays the groups on an interface of the user based on the ranked list where higher ranked groups are displayed above lower ranked groups in the interface of the user.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media are provided for using a calculator application to calculate answer values by evaluating formulas based on user input. The calculator application is hosted by an operating system and includes a template store containing templates that define user interface elements such as input fields associated with variables. The templates also have embodied therein formulae that define relationships between the variables. A user-interface, generated from information in a template, is provided to a user that includes input fields for receiving values to be associated with variables. Answer values are calculated by evaluating the formulae based on user input.

Abstract: An address book database includes household records in addition to contact records and group records. A household record contains a household distribution list that identifies a household group of contact records and a family group of contact records. The household distribution list further contains information about the relative hierarchy of each contact record in the family group, and that hierarchical information can be used to generate family trees. Each household record further contains a name field and other types of fields. Contact records that are included in the household distribution list include a household property which points to the household record so that entries of the household record can be displayed in place of entries of the contact records.
