Abstract: Inverse search systems and methods operate on identifiers of content items in a corpus such as the World Wide Web In an inverse search, the user submits a query that includes an identifier of a target content item in the corpus and receives information (metadata) about the target content item being returned to the user. Many types of metadata can be returned, including ratings or other metadata related to the target content item obtained from users, popularity data specific to the target content item, information about previously submitted forward search queries that led to the target content item being identified as a hit, and metadata extracted from the target content item.

Abstract: A transverse-longitudinal perpendicular automatic adjusting apparatus used for a cutting machine is disclosed. The automatic adjusting apparatus comprises a cross beam (8), a driving trolley (5), a driven trolley (7), a rotating shaft (1), a rolling bearing (2), a driving connecting plate (3) and a disc spring (4). The cross beam (8) is a drawn cross beam. The driving connecting plate (3) is connected to a bottom surface of the cross beam (8). A bottom surface of the cross beam is rigidly connected with a driven connecting plate (6), which is connected with the driven trolley (7). The apparatus ensures stable operation and is inexpensive. The apparatus is easy to adjust, install and manufacture.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for ranking a result set. The method according to one embodiment comprises selecting an item from the result set, selecting a user profile from one or more user profiles and selecting one or more items of personalized information from the selected user profile. A rank is calculated for the item on the basis of the selected one or more items of personalized information and the selected item in the result set is ranked in accordance with the calculated rank.

Abstract: Personal portal pages for individual users are integrated with web content syndication. For example, when a search query is received from the user, a list of hits is generated. For each hit, it is determined whether there is an associated syndication feed, such as an RSS feed. The list of hits is displayed for the user, and a syndication option is included for each hit that has an associated syndication feed. The user can select the syndication option and thereby subscribe their personal portal page to that syndication feed. In some embodiments, the user may also be able to select syndication feeds for subscription via an alternative interface.

Abstract: A method and system for preventing excessive flood packets from switching devices in a network for routing packets between a source station having an address and a destination station in the network having an address. A first packet directed toward the destination station is received over the network via an incoming traffic switch. The incoming traffic switch includes a table without the address of the destination station. The first packet is flooded over the plurality of switches. The flooded first packet is received at a front facing switch coupled to the destination station. The front facing switch has a table including the source address of the packet. The source address of packet is flushed from the table of the front facing switch. A response packet is sent from the destination station to the source station. The response packet is flooded to the incoming traffic switch. The flooded response packet is received at the incoming traffic switch.

Abstract: There is provided a system for visually associating a search region containing search criteria with a search category from which the results of a search are found. The system contains a search region containing a user's search criteria, a result region comprising indicia of several search categories, and a connection indicator establishing a visual connection between the search term contained in a search region and a selected one of search category indicia so as to enable a user to make a cognitive connection indicating that the user's search term was found in the particular search category indicated by the connection indicator.

Abstract: A method and system of adding functionality to an Internet browser interface. In one embodiment of the present invention, the added functionality may facilitate automatic login to a web site using an Internet browser. Abstract: Methods of determining values of keywords in an internet search are described. According to one aspect of the invention, a method comprises steps of receiving keywords entered for a plurality of searches; detecting converted transactions associated with the plurality of searches; analyzing the converted transactions; and determining values associated with the keywords based upon the converted transactions. According to other aspects of the invention, methods for recommending subsets of keywords and for recommending keywords based upon converted transactions and click through rates are disclosed. A database search system is also disclosed.

The method and apparatus enable a user to know the correct reading direction of a specific text content in a BiDi document conveniently and intuitively, thus improving user experience when the user reads the BiDi document, and avoiding possible misunderstanding and consequences.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for resorting a sequence of sorted strings, wherein the sequence of sorted strings is obtained by sorting a plurality of strings based on a first character collation standard and the resorting is based on a second character collation standard. A method in accordance with an embodiment of the invention includes: comparing the first character collation standard with the second character collation standard to obtain a change of the character collation standard; and resorting the sequence of sorted strings based on the change of the character collation standard. The method of the present invention takes the change of the character collation standard and its affection to the sequence of sorted strings into consideration, and can resort the sequence of sorted strings quickly and thus save time for resorting.

Abstract: Two process-tolerant arithmetic circuit architectures are implemented to develop functional blocks for error-tolerant applications such as FIR filters and FFT blocks. The resulting blocks may achieve computational performance of up to 42 times higher than conventional architectures. Embodiments adaptively change the precision of the computation to achieve a high precision computation given the underlying speed of the circuit. The resulting improvement can be allocated to increasing yield or dynamically trading off between reduced power consumption, faster computation, or higher-fidelity computation.
