Abstract: A method for preventing a fan from burning down includes steps of: using a central processing unit (CPU) to detect rotational speed of forward operation of a fan and defining as a highest backward rotational speed value; using the CPU to detect operation direction and rotational speed of backward operation of the fan; and using the CPU to activate the fan to operate forward or activate a rotation stop control signal to stop the fan when the fan impeller rotates forward or backward by return air, if the rotational speed of the rotation stop control signal is smaller or larger than the highest backward rotational speed value, the CPU activating the fan to operate forward or making the fan to generate a warning signal and keeping providing the rotation stop control signal. The method can prevent the fan from burning down and enhance the stability.

Abstract: Most of large-scale image retrieval systems are based on Bag-of-Visual-Words model. However, traditional Bag-of-Visual-Words model does not well capture the geometric context among local features in images, which plays an important role in image retrieval. In order to fully explore geometric context of all visual words in images, efficient global geometric verification methods have been attracting lots of attention. Unfortunately, current existing global geometric verification methods are either computationally expensive to ensure real-time response. To solve the above problems, a novel geometric coding algorithm is used to encode the spatial context among local features for large scale partial duplicate image retrieval. With geometric square coding and geometric fan coding, our geometric coding scheme encodes the spatial relationships of local features into three geo-maps, which are used for global verification to remove spatially inconsistent matches.

Abstract: Perforated structures and methods for forming perforated structures are disclosed. The perforated structures include partial holes or blind-holes that pass partially through the substrate. The partial holes can be positioned proximate to through-holes that pass entirely through the substrate. The partial holes add mechanical strength to the perforated substrate. Described are methods for modifying the optical appearance of the partial holes such that the partial holes appear indistinguishable from the through-holes, which allows for flexibility in designing cosmetically appealing patterns within the perforated structures.

Abstract: A method for surgical resection planning of a mass is disclosed, the method comprises the steps of modelling the mass based on a plurality of physical dimensions, determining a plurality of safety margins around a plurality of features within the mass, simulating a resection surface on the mass comprising a plurality of triangles, optimizing local area and position of a first of the plurality of triangles on the resection surface based on a triangle-based algorithm, updating the simulation of the resection surface, and repeating the steps of optimizing and updating for each of the plurality of triangles on the resection surface.

Abstract: Provided is a signal cancellation method for a wireless communication system, including: splitting a transmitted signal to obtain a main channel signal transmitted on a main channel and an auxiliary channel signal transmitted on an auxiliary channel; performing digital domain channel characteristic matching processing on the main channel signal and the auxiliary channel signal respectively to obtain a main channel characteristic matched signal and an auxiliary channel characteristic matched signal; and combining the main channel characteristic matched signal and the auxiliary channel characteristic matched signal which are coupled to a receiving channel in order for signal cancellation. A signal cancellation device for a wireless communication system is also provided. Through the technical solution of the disclosure, the signal cancellation problem of a bandwidth can be solved better.

Abstract: Adaptive image retrieval image allows retrieval of images that are more likely to reflect a current trend of user preferences and/or interests, and therefore can provide relevant results to an image search. Adaptive image retrieval includes receiving image query log data from one or more clients, and updating a codebook of features based on the received query log data. The image query log data includes images that have been queried by the one or more clients within a predetermined period of time.

Abstract: Implementation manners of the present disclosure provide an audio interaction method, apparatus, and system. The method includes: determining a user attribute tag, and grouping users into N groups based on the user attribute tag, N being a positive integer that at least is 2; recording an audio file of a user, and extracting decibel information of the audio file of the user from the recorded audio file of the user; and comparing the extracted decibel information of the audio file of the user with decibel information of a user in another group different from a group the user is in, and presenting a comparison result. In the implementation manners of the present disclosure, interaction between grouped users is achieved in an audio manner, therefore, interactive effect is better, and interactive efficiency is improved.

Abstract: A multiplexer is disclosed configured between a transceiving antenna and a receiving channel and as a transmitting channel; the transceiving antenna, the receiving channel and the transmitting channel are shared by signals of at least two modes; the multiplexer includes a combiner module, as well as transmitting filter modules, receiving filter modules and amplifier modules in one-to-one correspondence with the signals of various modes; each transmitting filter module is used to select a signal of a corresponding model from the signals to be transmitted through the transmitting channel to to the transceiving antenna; each receiving filter module is used to select a signal of a corresponding mode from the signals received by the transceiving antenna to transmit to the amplifier module connected thereto; the signal of the corresponding mode is transmitted to the combiner module after amplified by the amplifier module; the combiner module performs combination processing, and transmits to the receiving channel.

Abstract: A synchronizing method of fan rotational speed includes steps of: using a first Hall sensor to detect pulse period width generated by the rotational speed of the first fan and converting the pulse period width into a first pulse signal and transmitting the first pulse signal to a microprocessor; using a second Hall sensor to detect pulse period width generated by the rotational speed of the second fan and converting the pulse period width into a second pulse signal and transmitting the second pulse signal to the microprocessor; using the microprocessor to compare the first and second pulse signals corresponding to the pulse period widths of the rotational speeds of the first and second fans; and the microprocessor generating a pulse modulation signal to the second fan so as to control the rotational speed of the second fan to be equal to the rotational speed of the first fan.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to respond to a query for one or more images by using a processor, applying an indexing strategy which processes images as grouplets rather than individual single images; generating a two layer indexing structure with a group layer, each associated with one or more images in an image layer; cross-indexing the images into two or more groups; and retrieving near duplicate images with the cross-indexed images and the grouplets.

Abstract: A detection system for detecting fan's connection and disconnection states includes a detection module connected to a fan and a host. The fan has four external connection terminals for connecting to the detection module. Two of the four external connection terminals are a rotation speed control terminal, via which a detection signal and a rotation speed control signal are transmitted from the detection module to the fan, and a rotation speed feedback terminal, via which a fed back detection signal and a fan rotation speed signal are transmitted from the fan to the detection module. The host determines whether the fan is connected to or disconnected from the detection module according to whether or not a fed back detection signal is received by the detection module from the fan.

Abstract: An image retrieval method includes learning multiple object category classifiers with a processor offline and generating classifications scores of images as the semantic attributes; performing vocabulary tree based image retrieval using local features with semantic-aware co-indexing to jointly embed two distinct cues offline for near-duplicate image retrieval; and identifying top similar or dissimilar images using multiple semantic attributes.

Abstract: An ImageWiki architecture is used to generate an image-based web page for an image on the Web. An ImageWiki page may be created automatically or individually, by a user of the Web. Additionally, a user may revise existing ImageWiki pages to update a particular page or correct an incorrect or misleading previous entry. The ImageWiki application indexes images located on the Web. Once the images are indexed, the information related to the images is mined and extracted from various sources of web data. Finally, an ImageWiki page or web page is generated for each image. The resulting ImageWiki page contains the image as well as the aggregated information relating to the image.

Abstract: A hierarchical sparse codebook allows efficient search and comparison of images in image retrieval. The hierarchical sparse codebook includes multiple levels and allows a gradual determination/classification of an image feature of an image into one or more groups or nodes by traversing the image feature through one or more paths to the one or more groups or nodes of the codebook. The image feature is compared with a subset of nodes at each level of the codebook, thereby reducing processing time.

The method comprises the steps of a) learning a prediction model including at least a focal depth probability density function (PDF), h(k), for all depth values k, from historical tiles of the scene; b) predicting the possible focal surfaces in subsequent tiles of the scene by applying the prediction model; c) for each value of k, examining h(k) such that if h(k) is below a first threshold, no image is acquired at the depth k? for said one tile; and if h(k) is above or equal to a first threshold, one or more images are acquired in a depth range around said value of k for said one tile; and d) processing the acquired images to generate a pixel focus map for said one tile.
