Publication number: 20240086408Abstract: A database system that, after receiving the query request, adopts a pre-trained deep learning model to predict probing cardinality corresponding to the query request based on the query vector in the query request, the number of vectors of the query result, and the vector corresponding to the distances between the query vector and the center vector of a plurality of data partitions stored in the storage device. The system then determines the target data partitions according to the probing cardinality, and obtains the query result from the target data partitions. Since the probing cardinality is dynamically determined based on the query request, decreases to both the query efficiency due to a larger setting of the probing cardinality, and the query recall due to a smaller setting of the probing cardinality are avoided, which is beneficial in reducing the average number of target data partitions and improving query efficiency.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2022Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: STARLORD (CAYMAN) LIMITEDInventors: Chao XIE, Bolong ZHENG, Qi HU, Ziyang YUE

Patent number: 7404455Abstract: An apparatus is used with an impact hammer penetration assemble such as standard penetration test (SPT) in geotechnical engineering. The impact hammer penetration assembly comprises a penetration sample, a series of rods coupled together and an impact hammer apparatus. The drop of the hammer from a constant height hits the coupled rods and sampler in series and forces the sampler deeper into the ground. The apparatus includes a tip depth transducer and sampler to output a first electrical signal that is a function of the sampler tip position. A shock force transducer communicates the axial shock force in the rod to output a second electrical signal that is a function of the rod shock force and hammer blows. A shock penetration transducer communicates the movement of the coupled rods and sampler to output a third electrical signal that is a function of the sampler penetration due to the hammer blows. A micro-process controller monitors and processes the first, second and third signals in real time.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2005Date of Patent: July 29, 2008Assignee: The University of Hong KongInventors: Zhong Qi Yue, Chack Fan Lee, Peter Kai Kwong Lee, Leslie George Tham

Patent number: 6637523Abstract: An apparatus is used with a drilling assembly for drilling a borehole. The drilling assembly has an impact device linked to a drill head. The impact device is powered by a first fluid under a first pressure to impart a percussive force to the drill head. The percussive force is a function of the first pressure. A thruster of the drilling assembly is also linked to the drill head. The thruster is powered by a second fluid under a second pressure to impart a thrust force to the drill head. The thrust force is a function of the second pressure. Additionally, a rotator of the drilling assembly is linked to the drill head. The rotator is powered by a third fluid under a third pressure to impart a torque to the drill head. The torque is a function of the third pressure. The apparatus includes a first pressure sensor communicating with the first fluid to output a first electrical signal that is a function of the first pressure.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2001Date of Patent: October 28, 2003Assignee: The University of Hong KongInventors: Chack Fan Lee, Kum Tim Law, Zhong Qi Yue
