Abstract: A battery cell comprises a housing, a current collector having a main body disposed in the housing and a terminal substrate extending from the housing and defining a cutout, and an electrically conductive filler material. The electrically conductive filler material is disposed within the cutout and cooperates with the substrate to form a terminal configured to connect with a load. The filler material has a lower melting point than the substrate and further cooperates with the substrate such that electric flux flows through both the substrate and the filler material when a temperature of the terminal is below a melting point of the filler material, and electric flux flows through only the substrate when the temperature of the terminal exceeds the melting point of the filler material.

Abstract: In an approach to improve the privacy of chat groups within a virtual world, embodiments of the present invention expand a chat area of a chat group to form an experience annulus according to predetermined distance that a voice volume of private-chat-group member can propagate. Responsive to identifying an external user is interested in the chat group, embodiments generate and set a current topic representing a conversation in the chat group as an externally hearable topic that is perceivable by the external user and generate a faux multi-person conversation associated with the externally hearable topic that corresponds to a real conversation made by members in the chat group. Further, embodiments assign the faux utterances to chat group members based on a corresponding speaker index and utilize one or more corresponding avatars of the chat group members to present the faux utterances to the external user.

A CD gain engine computes CD gain optimized for the 2D input device operating with the 3D interface. The CD gain engine determines the CD gain based on specifications for the 2D input device and the 3D display. The techniques performed by the cursor position engine and the techniques performed by the CD gain engine can be performed separately or in conjunction.

Abstract: A device for loop closing and breaking of a power distribution grid based on decoupled voltage regulation is provided. The device comprises a voltage-regulation phase shifter, a control system, a voltage acquisition device and a loop closing switch. The voltage acquisition device acquires voltage signals on two sides of the loop closing switch performing a loop closing or breaking operation and transmits the voltage signals to the control system. The control system calculates a compensating voltage amplitude and phase-angle according to the voltage signals, and sends an instruction to the voltage-regulation phase shifter according to the compensating voltage amplitude and phase-angle. The voltage-regulation phase shifter outputs the compensating voltage amplitude and phase-angle according to the instruction from the control system, to compensate for a voltage difference between the two sides of the loop closing switch.

Characteristically, the exhaust gases includes carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and hydrocarbons. A catalyst system is in fluid communication with the exhaust gases. Advantageously, the catalyst system configured to promote breakdown of carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and hydrocarbons at temperatures greater than about 100° C.
