Abstract: A method for removing computing assets from service in a provider network includes receiving, from a requestor, identification for selected ones of the computing assets requested to be removed from service. Each of the computing assets is a computing device or a slot of a computing device. A pool in which each of the computing assets requested to be removed from service is located is identified. For each identified pool: which of the computing assets requested to be removed from service is approved for removal from service is determined based on a number of resource instances available for allocation to users after the computing devices are removed from service exceeding a predetermined number of resource instances. The requestor is notified as to which of the computing assets is approved for removal from service.

Abstract: The embodiments of the disclosure discloses a method of driving a dynamic backlight and a display device. In this method, a vertical synchronization signal corresponding to an input image signal is received; a first level signal and a second level signal are outputted alternately in response to a change edge of the vertical synchronization signal, where the total duration of the first level signal and the second level signal is 1/m of the duration between the change edge and a first change edge before the change edge, wherein the change edge and the first change edge before the change edge are change edges of a same changing direction; m is a positive integer; and the drive chip receives the first level signal and the second level signal and generates a PWM signal according to the first level signal and the second level signal.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and a device for detecting network intrusion. The method includes: obtaining a feature vector of a network flow to be detected; and detecting the feature vector using a deep neural network, and determining a network intrusion category of the network flow to be detected, in which the deep neural network is generated by training with training data, the training data includes feature vectors of normal samples and feature vectors of attack samples, the attack samples include original attack samples and generated attack samples by adding noise to the original attack samples. The method can improve an ability to identify unknown attacks and a normalization ability of known attacks.

Abstract: Systems and methods for improving social networking websites, such as dating websites, are disclosed. An owner of the website can capitalize on the quality of the user base. A bidding process can be used to limit access to highly desirable users. In some cases revenue generated from the bidding process will belong to the website owner, while in other cases, the revenues may be shared with the highly desirable users. Revenue need not be entirely financial, as the bidding process may operate with anything of value.

Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing a user who has multiple e-mail accounts to read all of the e-mails sent to the multiple accounts from a single account are disclosed. The user may have the ability to reply to the sender of an e-mail such that the original sender is unaware that the user read the e-mail from an account that may be different than the account to which the e-mail was originally sent. The ability to reply to an e-mail in such a manner may not be dependent on the specific e-mail account the user is using to read the e-mail.

Abstract: A method for allowing a first person to anonymously talk to a second person. The method includes entering an identifier that is associated with the second person and an intermediate server computer using a first phone, and then forwarding the identifier to the intermediate server computer. The identifier masks the second person's true identity. After the intermediate server computer receives the identifier, the intermediate server computer forwards a message to a second phone operated by the second person. The message includes an inquiry regarding whether or not the second person wants to talk to the first person. If the second person wants to talk to the first person, then the second person responds to the message indicating a desire to talk to the first person using the second phone, and the first and second phones are automatically connected together so that the first and second persons can talk anonymously.
